Thought he was great today, very composed on the ball, and won most of his battles.

 

Another good game for him. Definitely putting in a challenge to keep his place.

 

Brilliant in the air and so composed, going to develop into some player if he gets the chance

 

The fact he's getting these opportunities to get a good run of games will stand to him and us. Ye he prob won't play as much when starfelt and jullien are back but he's one for the future and he is getting better.

Aye its good that can get a run of a few games but it's also good to take a step back. Nothing worse for young players who are too depended on instead of focusing on their development

No sure. I want to rate him higher than I do but think he's lacking in some department's..

He's still decent and will improve but I have a nagging feeling that it may no be enough for us long term..

 

Utter pish! He was rock solid today, didn't put a foot wrong. If I'm wrong please point to his errors. You've clearly got it in for him as you do almost everyone of our academy boys.

 

Young CB lacking in some areas is hardly a new concept. He does far more good things than bad. If Ralston has taught us anything then it's to get behind our young guys. And btw Welsh has been far better in his early Celtic career than Ralston ever was. Can't understand any criticism of him right now, he's been superb all things considered. What a prospect.

 

The best thing i can say about him today was it was in the 2nd half before i spotted he was playing. That meant no * ups or mistakes and had a good game.

 

Honestly don't get why he gets stick.

A good lad who makes very few mistakes.

 

Who's against them?

Ralston is a lot easier on the eye and even he has limitations at time's..

I'll say it again, he's a decent player and will likely improve.....I just have my doubts whether it'll be as a long term first teamer here..

 

He needs to stop diving in close to the halfway line, few times hes done it now and leads to a chance or goal.

 

He wasn’t rock solid. He won a few headers but at least 3 or 4 times he sold himself on the halfway line by diving in and not winning the ball. In fact it was his pish defending that led to the corner where they won the penalty.

Why would I have it in for the academy players? I’ve defended Mikey Johnston a lot more than others on here - albeit he is starting to test my patience.

On the flip side, Welsh gets away with murder from some fans precisely because he’s an academy player. If Starfelt was making the same mistakes Welsh makes he’d be getting hounded out.

 

Possibly because he cost nothing, so expectations always low??
Anyway, another solid shift from him.
Right now, nothing between him and Starfelt, I do think Welsh is better on the ball.
I really dont buy this "Starfelt is miles better".

 

Starfelt has became a much better player when he’s not playing.

 

Still prefer him massively over Starfelt

 

Also thought he played well yesterday.
