It's a €2m buy back clause if Barca want him back for the 10-11 season but if they decide they don't want him or if he doesn't want to go back and we sell him on Barca get 25% of that sell on fee.

This might work like a 2 year loan with buy-on option.

If he plays well here (but not super world class as hes only 20) and Barca is so deep they don't want him/he doesn't want to sit at Barca then we might be able to negotiate a new deal at 4-5m to keep him.

If not we spend 400k-1.1m for a solid DM cover or a world class player that Barca would really want to keep. Anyway it goes we win in the end.

Crosas: “A period of my life is over”

    David Saura (enviat especial)

Marc Crosas, who joined Barça aged 13, is on the point of finalising his transfer to Celtic and recognises that this means that “a period of my life is over”.

The midfielder and cousin of Albert Jorquera was about to start his eighth season at Barça but in the end had to look for another team after being discarded by the coach. “I’ve been told right from the start I wasn’t part of their plans,” he said. “Things change a lot in football but you’ve got to be smart when you see how many excellent players they’ve signed.”

He is not sad to go but leaving Barça is a tough decision for any ex-academy player: “A period of my life is over. When you start out as a kid your goal is to make it to the first team but not everyone can get there. Football doesn’t stop here.”

    Little playing time

[IMG]The Catalan player regretted the fact that he hasn’t played much recently and therefore has not been able to show if he’s good enough or not to stay. He says he is going to improve as a player and that “time will tell whether I could have made it here”.

    Celtic’s interest

Marc Crosas said that he had offers from other teams but in recent days the current Scottish champions have shown a lot of interest and “maybe that’s what tipped the balance, though things aren’t yet tied up”. The club has agreed basic terms for the transfer of the player in return for half a million euros plus €900,000 as a variable sum depending on the player’s game time, classification for the Champions League and titles won.

The 20-year-old midfielder says the chance to play in the Champions League again after having done so with Barça is attractive, but not with Olympique de Lyon, where he has been on loan for half a season. “Playing in a tournament like this is always important,” he said. His new side is “tough and very good”.

:97:we are buying him. we don't need to buy him again. its not a two year loan. its not a loan at all, its a purchase with a clause of a buy-back of £1.5m by Barca in the summer of 2010. if he decides to stay or Barca don't come back for him, we do no need to shell out more money.

Strachan said no signings were imminent after last nights game when he was asked. He also said he has a team in mind for Sunday so it wouldn't make the slightest bit of difference if players were to arrive before then. He also said got a few weeks of the transfer window left.

I reckon we won't see anyone new signed until next week or the week after

Link is on Teamtalk.com under Celtic

It says on wikipedia(not best source) that he is a celtic player already albeit a co-operation with barca. Does this mean that Celtic and Barca will share ownership like Eto'o was shared between Real Madrid and Majorca and how Italian clubs share ownership of players etc?

Mcgrory67 - I believe the SFA does not allow co-ownership of its registered players. I think wikipedia might be talking * :p

If those Strachan quotes are true that doesn't sound good for the Crosas signing. And I'd still love to see a beast of a defender come in as well....

Yep co ownership is not allowed in the UK nor in most leagues. Italy is the only place I know of where its allowed.

Wikipedia isnt a reliable source as anyone can edit the information

I can't really see it being tied up in the next few days. I think it will take a while. The good news is that the agreement is there and he really wants to come but you have to remember we haven't given him a medical or discussed personal terms.

Hopefully i'm worng but this one will take a while like the Naka transfer did 3 seasons back!

I think Spain allows co-ownership. Remember the period where Eto'o was owned by Mallorca, Real AND Barca?

But he's not said anything different here? This is exactly what he said when it was announced and his quotes were added to this thread.

There's still a long way to go on this one!

"The time had come to leave and Celtic wanted me."

Don't remember hearing him say that to be honest.. sounds pretty final to me, Romeo!

In my drink addled mind I thought Eto'o left Madrid at a young age, went back to France or something.. Ended up at Mallorca where Barca bought half of him..........Or something. Dont think all 3 clubs owned him..
