Not at all bud - it was the "buy back" clause that interested me as well - Barca obviously not wanting to lose out in case he turns out to be a f^cking legend!

This actually sounds pretty promising, although i still hold the doubts i had at the start about his physical presence. No qualms about his talent though, obviously.

 

No doubt the premiership vultures will be ready to swoop in for him soon!

 

well if he develops and barca try and buy him back is it possible for him to reject them?

also gives us a fallback if we buy him and he doesnt suit the spl style

 

there is no buy-back clause. a buy-back clause is when theres a figure in place. what the Record has reported is that they have first option. this is if we choose to sell, we have to tell Barca first and allow them to speak to the player before any other club(s). this would be better for us, as if he becomes class we can charge a high price insted of losing out on money with a figure set in place beforehand.

he can of course reject them if he wishes.

hopefully, its a loan deal first of all to see if he suites the SPL. obviously, we would have a set buy clause in the deal to make it permanent if he becomes a star with us.

 

I was meaning i LIKED the buy-back thing - makes the 2.5 million sound like far less of a risk, if any risk at all....

 

lets get him asap before down south get a hold of him. 2.5m is a steal.

 

They did a buy back fee with Pique at Man utd he got unhappy at Utd and Fergie let him go back to Barca ,

 

Very true - but Pique was faced with displacing Vidic and Ferdinand (CB his best position). This guy has the mighty task of potentially displacing Sno...

 

Considering Sno is on vacation in Hong Kong and Shanghai for awhile, that's even easier than otherwise suggested.

 

Let's hope he takes this holiday time to reconsider the Osasuna move... would make the Crosas deal a guarantee, and although i'm not entirely sure about this transfer (yet), anything is better than "the distributor" splaying passes all over the f^cking shop.

 

Celtic have been told by Barcelona that they can have their young midfielder Marc Crosas for £2.5million, according to reports coming in today, but only as long as Barcelona can have a buy-back clause inserted in the contract.

But at the moment the two clubs are discussing a possible loan move as well, which would basically amount to the same thing.

A Barca spokesman said yesterday: "Celtic have talked to us about both a loan and permanent deal regarding Marc Crosas.

"They know what that will cost. Marc is to travel to America with the team so we don't think anything will happen until they return."

Crosas wants to sort out where he will next season sooner rather than later. He said: "I want to start training with my new team as quickly as possible."

The cost of a years loan has been variously reported to be between £500,000 and £2million, but the second figure is thought to be unlikely, especially if the purchase is quoted at £2.5million.'

I reckon it could be an idea to take him on a season long loan with an option to buy at the end of the season. If he has adjusted well then spend the 2.5 million and add barca's clause!

 

I dont think it go's along with Big Pete Lawwells recent contracts we are securing our best talents to long term contracts.

I wouldnt want to be in the situation that the player turns out to be amazing and barca demand him back due to injury problems they have. It could really disrupt our season!

 

it makes me laugh hearing things like that. How many minutes of action have you seen this guy play? how can you say he's a steal? He may turn out to be, but nobody has a clue yet whether he is or not yet.

I want us to get this guy to cos I think he's the type of player were lacking and he's worth taking a chance on. I'd be excited by this signing.

On a seperate note how do u think the buy back option will work?
Do you think if Barcelona come up with £x some time in the future they can buy him back whether we like it or not? Or do you think they can only buy if celtic want to sell and it'll be a fee that has to be negotiated?

if he signs for celtic and plays well for a couple of seasons then barca come back in for him celtic could make a good profit
