    All Hail big Jock Stein. I salute you wherever you are. You and your teams formed the backdrop of my childhood - a happy childhood living among the emigrant Irish in Clydebank and in the heartland of industrial Scotland.

    Your picture was on my wall, and in the 60s and 70s, Saturday couldn't come fast enough for me. I remember your greatest moment like it was yesterday - I couldn't watch the last ten minutes of that game, I hid behind the couch. And when the game was over, we played football on the street until it was 12 o'clock and dark - the names of the Lions were remembered and would never be forgotten - we must have replayed that game a thousand times in the Summer of 1967 - The Summer Of Love. It's funny how you recall things: that evening, I started to kick the ball with my left foot - I practiced and practiced and didn't stop for a year. I was lucky to grow up in the comfort of Celtic's greatest era - wouldn't it be great if it was like this all the time.
