    Jackie McNamara & Andreas Hinkel were both better. Paul Telfur wasn't bad, Mark Wilson, setting aside things since (and when fit) was pretty dependable, if unspectacular, and when Adam Matthews and Mikael Lustig were both at the club they were both having to keep a high standard lest the other take their spot, highlighting the importance for competition for spots.

    Surely no mere co-incidence that once Matthews left was when the criticisms of Lustig became more, as he was undisputed first choice without any real competition for his spot, so when he making errors there wasn't really any consequence in terms of being dropped, apart from when missing through injury.

    Agathe was better as a wing back rather than as a fullback, where could really put on the turn of speed - even if his crossing was never the best though, that's for sure.

    Given the importance of fullbacks to Ange's system, I am very surprised he's not (as far as we can tell) made that a huge priority.

    Matthews and Lustig were both good IMO.

    Matthews had the injury problems but he was still a really good RB for us. Lustig was immense for years.

    Some media are now saying he’s the preferred option now over Buta.

    I think he’d be cracking for us, he looks great going forward, gets plenty of assists and looks like he’d fit Ange’s system.

    He's the one I have wanted and would love us to go all out for him, tbh though, we are getting linked with every RB going, everyday a new name crops up and I fear the usual statement come September...

    "We tried to get a few but just couldn't get them over the line."

    Spot on there with both of them. Matthews had his injury issues and sadly it never worked out for him after Celtic it seems but when fit he was a very decent right back for us and Lustig absolutely loved him. Terrific player when at his peak and just loved his personality. Both clearly really appreciated playing for us as well.
