Now if the clubs are miles away from a deal, it’s business as usual and the player goes about his business.

Not really too quiet. We're usually not too bad that way, and the original leak came from the Croat side, so possible they've been told to shut it! If we're in heavy negotiation, like rumour suggested - probably about a sell-on clause, if true, I'd imagine this could be bubbling below the surface.

Personally, this felt like exactly the kind of signing we should be doing, so probably aren't. And besides, if we're interested then EPL teams alerted to our scouting him will be, so he's probably getting interest/offers from there, which will slow everything down
