    Im lost on this guy,

Ive seen him score some unbelievable goals in Italy and ive seen him fly into tackles in Italian Football so what is going wrong in Scotland?

Look past the football because when he came into the team initially the boy could play, pass, even score goals but something went with him and he just isnt the same player anymore.

Possibly family issues? Missing Italy? A lot of Italian players struggle outside thier own country as they are so tied to thier homeland and thier mammas etc *.

But who knows? I just think if whatever it is that doesnt work for Donati at the moment could be changed we would see him show the fans just what we know he is capable of.

I do believe Strachs is close to giving up on him though so in my opinion, he has half a season to turn himself around 360 or he will be out the door in the transfer window.

its JJ all over again. Has ability but cant do it in the frenetic SPL. Possibly both are a bit lanky and dont have a low enough centre of gravity to move quick enough in CM in this league. Even Sno seems to have a similar problem but he is young enough to possibly adapt.

I dont see why some people are questioning his heart for the club, Hes a team player and this was shown at the title celebrations last year. Hed been dropped from the team for quite a while yet when we won the title he seemed one of the happiest players there.Couldnt keep the smile from his face and was one of the first out on to the pitch to congratulate his team mates. He didnt show any bad feelings when being left on the bench and i still think we will see him come good. I dont want him to go

    wee bit unfair

I won't deny that he's hasn't quite lived up to the high expectations he arrived with but I think some of us are too quick to write him off. I think he has shown that he is a good football player but that he is struggling with a combination of expectation and confidence. I think on the days that he plays he is the most visibly disappointed if he has a bad game and that is a sign of a player who desperately wants to do well for the club. I think he is capable of turning his Parkhead career around but the challenge for him now is to break into the team ahead of hartley, robson, brown...etc and redeem himself to the gaffer and the supporters....Personally, I hope he does because it can only be good for Celtic.

    Another chance

I actually think Donati was playing well up untill around the turn of the year but his confidence seemed to go when he was left out of the starting line-up for the barca game at home.

It also got to the stage where even if he had a good game ,(hibs 0-2 away is a prime example) he was given no credit anyway.

If we get a good offer for him he will probably be moved on but imo he should be given another chance.

Last two times I saw him live were against Aberdeen in the cup quarters which we lost 1-0 - He was by far the best player in the first half and then in the second he returned to his usual * self.

I then watched him when we won 1-0 against Aberdeen in the league with Samaras scoring the only goal and he was * in that game too but did try and throw himself into a few tackles (clearly the abuse was getting to him) but he didnt look anywhere near winning the tackles.

3 months and i think hes gone

Problem - Good skilled, talented player who is not delivering.. his heart's not in it..

Solution - "The Celtic jersey does not shrink to fit inferior players" -- there's the door mate...

Don't know why , but i've never really taken to the guy , at times he's shown glimpses of the kind of player he could be and other times he's looked liked a startled rabbit , not knowing which way to run . Will he make it at CP ? would love him to prove me wrong , but I doubt it . We need some-one with the courage and conviction to go into 50-50 tackles , to track back when the ball is given away but most of all , some-one that the defence can pass the ball to without the worry of it coming back at them just as quick

    Solution....... thats up to WGS

its funny you can see he is a decent player but like iv said before no heart .i personally think he thought scottish football was a walk in the park but now i think he cant handle the ruff and tumble of the scottish game.
solution-give him till january and if he hasnt given himself a fukin shake then punt him.at least then he cant say he never got a chance!

my question is ... why not get rid of him?

i just can tell he's going to be another one of those strachan players that hangs around for the next two years playing the odd game here and there, mainly in the CIS Cup. We could have sold him to Parma i think for a few mill...

i dont think he's that talented & obviously not got the ambition either, so why hang on to him TBH. Strachan such an annoying manager.
