Leaving aside whether this guy will be a success or not.... it rings too many alarm bells regarding how the club structure will be.

A dof with a hotline to DD to have everything cleared or even players chosen for him.

Jk will almost certainly remain in a high profile position.

Barkas will probably get kept on.

We will have to hear the word ‘soccer’ to an uncomfortable level.

Hoopy will grow a massive tail and a pouch.

    etc etc

Fitness, first title with his club in years. Anyone who has played with him giving him ringing endorsements.

And you don’t think there are similarities with Deila?

Agree. The support is against it, he probably won't have the respect of the majority of the dressing room and the press will be willing him to fail.

If he somehow overcomes this there needs to be a movie.

    Okay, story checks out...

As for Good, didn't do much in Oz before going overseas but had his early career pretty much injury plagued. Showing his quality now and likely to be in the NT for upcoming WCQ matches.

Yes and Ange's CV is a million times stronger, as I said.

And I was against the appointment of the manager who was in charge of those clusterfucks...

And there is the problem.. fans like myself and everyone on here wants and sees what's best for the club are up against self serving incompetent fools only interested in lining their pockets.

The football side of this club has been badly run for so long the glory years of UEFA Cup runs are a distant memory..

I've already said loads of times its a very similar appointment to Deila. I don't think Deila had the strength of character to impose his ideas on Celtic players though. This guy on the contrary does seem to have the character to earn respect of players which will be absolutely key if he is to succeed. I can't imagine Kris Commons throwing a tantrum at this guy and getting away with it.

As for scouting, Ange knows every player in Asia. There'd be any number who'd jump at the chance to go to Celtic and he'd be likely to attract the best up-and-comers in the AL plus the cream of Asia.

Money could be an issue as there's a shitload available in the Asian leagues, but he would certainly be a lodestone for some.

I wouldn't say "we all wanted Fergal Harkin", most supporters had no clue who he was.

What I will say is, if Ange is his suggestion and it goes * up then he puts his own neck on the chopping block too. Given how important this moment is in our history, which could decide if we wrestle back our dominance or completely cede it to the huns, the appointment should be as low risk as possible.

Ange ain't a low risk appointment. It's high risk, high reward.

if he turns out to rebuild us and have us playing in the way that some in this thread think he can, fantastic. If he fails, the consequences are absolutely massive.

Id argue its as good as Eddie Howie, who for me is only rated because hes English. The season he got Bournemouth up they were financed by an oligarch making a 38m loss and getting a big ffp fine. Then spent 100s of millions on terrible players and getting them relegated after a few seasons.

Davidson can't help he has only been a manager for a year though. His CV is also better than Julien Nagelsmann who has won nothing. It's a daft argument as I dont want either of them

This is absolutely a Deila type appointment...

Ronny managed 3 trophies out of 6 (cheated out a treble possibly) against weaker opposition than will be faced next season. He did the job ok when needed but got seriously upgraded when needed.

Next season is too important, there are no certainties.... but we need a much higher degree of probability than ‘give him a chance’.

If it was a proven high profile manager coming in we wouldn’t hear phrases like ‘give him a chance’.

That kind of says enough for me.

100% does. Although doesn't mean it'll work out like that. Winning every league asked for and a double. Hopefully he gets our impeccably high standards of trebles.

My point is Davidson is nowhere near qualified enough to get this job. Ange is, in my opinion, qualified enough. He may fail and he may not be good enough but he is qualified enough based on where we stand in the world football landscape and what he has achieved in his career.

Davidson's CV is not better than Nagelsmann's. Honours aren't the only thing on a CV.

I genuinely think he could do well here if he gets his own backroom staff (much like I said with Howe).
Do I think he'll get his own backroom staff?
    No
