Barkas is a disastrous waste of money, although rumours that was a Woods suggestion after Forster left us in the lurch.

Kenny was just a stop gap to see us til the end of the season. Game was already up by then.

Has any of his signings nailed down a first team slot, maybe Turnbull?

 

Jeremie Frimpong was 300k , came straight into the first team, and was sold 18 months later for £10 mil.
As a recruiter, that's a perfect bit of business, it's not Hammond's fault Frimpong was coached so poorly and didn't progress.

Julien immediately came into the first team and improved us.

El hamed looked alright at the start but was poorly managed and then wanted to go home, also kept of the team by Frimpong.

Soro's looked good when he's allowed to play.

Obviously I'm not saying he's done a great job, and we can do a lot better. But he's definitely not been terrible, or as bad as Congerton. It's not Hammond's fault he had a manger incapable of integrating new signings.

 

How the * did Frimpong not progress? He didn’t come straight to the first team, he worked to get in, got his chance handed to him and left for £13m the following year.

He absolutely progressed from when we first got him. This seems to be some sorta myth * are making up now.

Wasn’t a Hammond signing either. Came through the links we have with City with Lawwell’s boy

 

Wouldn't really blame this guy for it being a disaster. He could have brought in Messi and Ronaldo and Lennon would have * it.

 

I don't think people are meaning Frimpong didn't progress at all, I think it's more that his progress stalled after he was in the first team, which is what lead to him wanting away as he likely felt he wasn't being coached and improved properly.

 

For me it’s another where I’m wondering how many of these players can you even put down to Hammond, We know Barkas was his but then he wasn’t the person who lowballed Forster. Ajeti I don’t know if that was Hammond’s choice but leaving Toney after he came to visit Celtic park certainly wasn’t Hammond’s choice.


The good thing about lawell getting to * and a proper DOF coming is we can finally have some clarity about who’s signing players

 

Not from what I’ve been seeing people saying, rewriting history with this one.

 

El hamed flattered to deceive. And I'll never forget that wee toe poke challenge that let the Ferencvaros player through to score.

Jullien on his day is a good signing but can't stay fit and is too often bullied or day dreaming think we can do better.

Soro has the potential to be a good one for us but next season will be huge for him. If he's not a first teamer by then he'll never be. Jury is still out.

Frimpong is straight from the Man City/Lawell connection. He would have been signed with or without Hammond here imo.

Then you've got Barkas, Duffy, Ajeti.

If I had to mark him for his time here it would be a 4/10.

 

Frimpong was from our links with Man City and El Hamed and Soro were from Dudu.

What signings were actually from Hammond? Juillien? Barkas? Duffy?

He's done * all and probably contributed as much as someone who has downloaded Football Manager. A waste of a wage and one I'm glad that we've got rid of as it allows us to restructure.
