I have absolutely no interest in * Bournemouth or who the * their manager is or has been in the past but if this Eddie Howe chap is supposed to be a good manager I'll take your word for it.

I reckon the interest in Howe has grown arms over the last few months due mainly to him not being in a job and us being desperate to get rid of NL. I haven't seen anything of note to suggest he is remotely interested in coming up here and, to be honest, I think it's a non starter unless he's offered big bucks and a free reign to pick his backroom staff which I don't think Lawell will sanction. Hopefully this post might come back and bite me in the * and we can all start looking to the future with a bit more confidence.

    Agreed.

Wouldn't go near Lewandowski either. Last Pole we signed was Klimala and look how that's turned out.

there's zero doubt he would be an upgrade on the current calamity. Ffs, a monkey with tactic sheets stapled to his forehead could do better at this point.

But as others have said, it's all for nought if we don't see a complete overhaul and restructure of our coaching and scouting operations.

Howe has a great reputation among coaches and players, he's also extremely well thought of at Bournemouth...

BUT... his time at Burnley raises many red flags for me.

Yes his mum died, and I'm sure that was a tragic catalyst to him leaving. But he left Burnley languishing at near bottom of the championship and the seasons before were hardly anything praise worthy, and 8th place finish followed by a 13th...took over league 1 Bournemouth DAYS later, after dumping Burnley in the middle of October.

He DID get Bournemouth to the EPL, and kept them there for 4 years. But how much of that is due to his managerial nous and not the fact that Bournemouths new owners were throwing money at him to get to the EPL in the first place?

So yes... I'd take him in a heartbeat at this exact moment.
But I wouldn't be wanking myself into a frenzy over his appointment either. Not forgetting he has absolutely zero experience in Europe, even as a player.

John Kennedy at 8/1 seems like easy money at this point.

Tbh i don't know him, I ignored English football bar any big teams. I want him from what people say here :56:

    Does he play decent football?

Does he sub early if needs be?

Does his players have a visible plan?

If yes to any, then I'm going all in.

I really hope he’s not just the easy option because he doesn’t have a job!!! I’m not going to get too excited about this appointment, most on here had me convinced Duffy was the answer to our CB issues.
If he is honestly seen as the answer then ok why not but, if it’s an appointment to appease the fans then I’d rather we put Kennedy in until the summer, and get who we really want in then.

The Celtic Song ... There can be only one !
Thing is, this is the only name that's being banded about with any real feeling.

If as has been suggested Lawell had a drawer full of applicants that he failed to consider before appointing NL. Then can we get them back out and see of they are worth consideration.

To be looking at Eddie Howe as our one and only target as suggested, really does show how lazy we have become, and how desperate as a fan base we have become too.

I don't think this will happen now. Thursday was probably the last chance, now it will just be Lennon * more up.

This. Lennon Will be here until the summer. In which case we'll be lucky to finish third.

The 'Review' and Eddie Howe rumours are just a Board strategy to buy time methinks.Looks like they are leaving him to the mercy of the media and the fans....he is here to the end of the season unless he walks..which I doubt he will.

I had the pleasure of watching AFC in their championship title winning season, and was really impressed how well organised they were in and out of possession.

At that point they could keep possession for fun, then switch the tempo to cut teams open at will. Once they got into the EPL they tended to counter, and did it well for 3-4 seasons until injuries - luck run out (Villa’s win against SU was enough to send them down, thanks to VAR not being turned on)

In reply to the ‘afc had big money’ in the championship. Plenty of other clubs have spent even bigger and failed, so I wouldn’t criticise him for that.

However, he is bright and no doubt has a decent agent. Sadly the chances are they are using Celtic’s interest (mainly by fans on message boards) to push his reputation and keep his name circulating for other EPL clubs (CPFC being an obvious suggestion)

Must be odds on for him now Mick McCarthy has got the Cardiff job. That's his serious competition out the way.

No chance it’s Howe after today’s developments, coming out and saying how he rates the two players the huns signed on a pre says to me he’s not interested in us, surely if that was the case he would have told them to hold off until he was in charge and signed them for us?
