The record says it off, the eveningtimes says the chances of the deal are receding but then again last week the said the deal was done. So who really does know what is going on?

 

Maybe it's wishful thinking but these reporters probably expected it to be done by now and because it isn't, they'll be trying to think of reasons and saying the deal is now off. They have no contact with CP or Lawwell. They don't know. Look at the Paddy McCourt thing. It was announced that he signed before any of the papers got hold of the story. Fingers crossed we can get something sorted with a top class defender. If the deal breaks down because of wage demands, then i have to support Lawwell on that one. I'd prefer players to want to play for us like McDonald, Hartley, McGeady, Caldwell rather than mercaneries. As soon as the going gets tough, it's these players who stand out and drag us through it. Not some wannabe superstar who is afraid of the cold weather and only wants his wage packet. He can get tae * if that's the case and i for one am sure that's the only reason the deal will be held up

The papers simply have no clue.

The daily record said last friday that we were so confident of wrapping up the deal we had pulled out of pursuing Dorin Goiam from Steau.

Now they are saying the deal is dead? That makes no sense.

I am sure if it wasn't going to happen then Tamas would come out and say so.

 

Well just look at our rivals when they pulled out of signing Shittu, they came out with an official statement, I'm not saying the deal is going to happen but I don't think it's been decided one way or the other yet.

 

I think that we will remain in the hunt for a CB. I would love us to do a deal with hamilton for Mccarthy. I mean a deal which we buy him then send him back on loan.

I have full faith in the manager and the board. I fully expect us to win the league at a canter and any signings now will be to try and get to that 1 step further in the Champs League

 

Absolutely bang on. However, i read with dismay that Pedro Mendes (Pompey) and Davis (Fulham may lower the asking price) could be on their way to the Dark Side - a shame, as they look bleak at the moment with the "Mighty" K.Thomson "bossing" the midfield..

As for McCarthy - we need to get in abouts quick, as he is one season in the big league away from getting snaffled down south. Some talent.

 

liverpool were ment to be intrested in him but he rejected them to play for hamilton it's probably cos he was young at the time and he didn't want to jump into something big so early in his career.

 

Any chance of just closing this thread now because it's doing my fecking nut in. I'm actually beginning to dislike the lanky streak of pish and hope he gets told where to go if he asks for more cash!

I was thinking last night about this transfer, I might be wrong, but I don't think it will be completed until WGS gets back to CP, I can't see Tamas being paraded until his new manager is their for the photo shoot. Im not getting too upset about the length of the transfer, if we do get him great! if not then ach well, better luck next time.

I remember that guy mate, paulantony his name was, said about 4 weeks ago that he guaranteed a big signing was done in principal and would be confirmed in 7-10 days. 3 weeks later still nothing and I havnt seen him post in a while so a load of pish im afraid!
