    dyou think that maybe Celtic are trying for players that are out of our depth? Tamas seems to be holding out for something, maybe a bigger club...not that there are many clubs bigger than the mighty Celtic! just seems to be dragging on and on, and thats with all transfers. am just a bit peed off that we aren't signing more quality players.

    If he doesn't sign today, get rid. He obviously wants alot of cash and therefor I question his want to play for the club. Having been around so many clubs, he's now holding out for more money, I don't like the smell of it all. He wants £32k a week, he's not worth that, regardless of what he thinks. Plus there's the fee on top, he needs to be realistic, £18k, which is a long way from the £7k he currently earns.

    Keep-The-Faith are saying,

    Our Romanian is none-too-hot, but according to a translation of reports from Romania (which may or may not be as accurate and reliable as the Daily *) the transfer of 24-year old Romanian international central defender Gabriel Tamas from Auxerre to Celtic “is almost final”.

    Strangely enough, we are being given conflicting rumours here at Keep The Faith: the deal is dead because of excessive wage demands versus the transfer is gonna happen. What to believe, eh?

    Romania’s ProSport reports that “representatives of the two clubs involved will meet at Auxerre” today to finalise the transfer of Gabriel Tamas, who will reportedly cost £3.5million.

    Nah, think we'll sign another 2 folk tops - hopefully Tamas and some left back cover... after that, i doubt anything very much. We are a f^cking light year ahead of the Huns i.m.o - last season was a f^cking fluke on their part, as they are gash. Without Barry, they are even worse than average, and so we don't need to go spunking money on panic purchases...

    Build up the bucks, keep ahead of Satan's Sons, and strengthen year by year.

    Well Said, i don't think we should panic buy and find out that the players we bought are flops, we are 10x better than rangers and if we carry on saving and saving then we can spend it on bigger players in the future.

    This is the problem with agents tellign newspapers about potential transfers before they happen. It seems to drag on forever. In the old days the first thing you knoew about a transfer generally was them turning up for a medical at Ross Hall.

    Would be very happy to see him sign, we still have a month and a half for new signings don't we before the CL deadline so really there is no rush and the deals will get better value the longer we wait. Of course we have a later CL deadline than other teams in our general vicinity.:bbpd:

    This is getting more strung out than the Shaun Maloney wages wrangle, I hope it turns out better than the Maloney one.

    Mind you I didn't actually watch any Romania games at the Euro's, so to be honest I don't know who he is...is he better than Gary or Mick...if so who will make way for him?

    3.5million is a lot for a CB, so he better be good!!
