Can someone please tell Lenny he can use 5 subs..

An ideal way to keep a big squad content.

Don't think he's used the 5 in any game as of yet.

First game of the season we were beating Hamilton 4-1 with 53 mins played. He put Ntcham on at 70 mins but waited until 80 and 85 mins to put Klimala and Dembele on.

It was the perfect opportunity to give subs decent game time.

I would've thought a manager would want to minimise any criticism that may be aimed at them by picking the players at their disposal and playing them in the correct position.

If Lenny had played one of the strikers and we still lost the game, then the focus would be on the recruitment rather than the managers negligence.

As manager of the club he has a responsibility in the way he talks, hopefully some good can come of this and we can get some results together and a few more players in the door.

We may be oot of the CL but we haven't lost a trophy, must remain focused on the task ahead.

Team selections are his choice? Not been anywhere near full strength with his team selections. Not sure about his new recruits except Turnbull. He can throw the players under the bus and complains he knows for the last six months certain players want out! yet he still plays them? C'mon Lenny its down to you on this you failed and passed the buck.

It’s a broken record campaign in here and I’m no * different. The same cycle of thoughts keep rattling through my brain every time I think about Lennon past-present-future.

When Lennon is under less pressure (I’d say no pressure but that wouldn’t ever be the case) he’s great to listen to. I enjoy listening to his outlook on the game.
I’ve heard him many a time away from the game and he’s such an affable bloke.

Sadly though, he’s prone to some bizarre melt downs when under pressure and makes some really bizarre team decisions that seem to contradict his ‘way-to-go’ yet analysis and plans.

It’s like a polar shift in mood. We come off a 9air title and enter a season that should be starting with enthusiasm and celebration that we’re in a position to secure a historic 10th title - yet the mood is insta-soured with Lennon’s post match meltdown.

The line-up and result was bad enough but ok, you perhaps could wash that off after some time, single malt or Cillit Bang therapy and refocus on the main objective but no. Not at all, Lennon had to obfuscate the masses with a post match TNT like outburst that completely sours this season before its barely started.

Now he backtracks and seems to attempt to play it all down, frankly it comes across as weak.

I’m torn, the man is a legend to me and I have, or maybe had, all the time for him. Perhaps I wasn’t keen on him being the rats successor but I softened to him being back - now though... he’s really found wanting both as a coach and a professional after this week.

At the end of the day it’s all ye can do JC, move on.

Some odd thoughts cross my mind. You’ve had the whole period of furlough to chill, relax, plan and yet ye still come back to work and flip yer lid.

Just shows you the mentality of most modern day footballers today....our most important season for a long long time and some of them want to * off into the sunset.... football these days really is tragic.

My bigggest concern is his stubborness. If he doesnt change formation for motherwell we should show him the door. Our gameplan is obviously severely flawed

Formation is the least of his worries after that match and comment.

His only words to the players pre-match should be “Get out there and show the masses we’re fighting together and on point”

Anything less visible on the park then yes, I concur.

So I can't try put the Copenhagen tie into perspective in that we played well enough and created enough that we could've had a 2-legged tie over after 45 mins away from home had Édouard had taken the chances that came his way....but you can minimise Lennon's achievements of winning the League Cup or beating Lazio because we might not have done if we didn't have the Goalkeeper that he signed and played? That's duplicitous.

Players either share some responsibility and accountability for our performances/results or they don't. You can't flip between both whenever it suits your argument.

Lennon 100% got it wrong on Wednesday and I'm not afraid to say that but there's a portion of our support that will not give him credit for anything at all or do so begrudgingly. That's not being objective, you can constructively criticise the things he has done/is doing wrong, while simultaneously recognising that it's not all bad and there are some positives in his tenure.

Deila got 2 wins in the Europa Group that year. Lennon had 4 wins and a draw from 5 games before going into the dead rubber v Cluj, in which we rightly played our fringe players. The draw v Rennes only came because we were denied a stonewall penalty when Christie was tipped up in the box as well.

Re dominating the huns, it was enjoyable to skelp them about the place but they have undeniably improved since then. If teams like Porto, Feyenoord, Young Boys, Villarreal, SpartaK Moscow etc. didn't "dominate" them in their Europa games in the last few years, is there any shame in us not doing so?

Dominating possession and play will always come 2nd to getting results and Lennon has won the majority of games v them since his return. Tommy Burns Celtic team dominated the Huns on the park more or less every time we played but failed to always turn that into a victory on the day and more importantly into trophies.

I'd be happy to allow them the lion's share of possession every time we play if we done the damage when it mattered, like the 2-0 victory at Ibrox. I probably took more pride in the performance and result that day than some of the skelpings under the rat. Every man played their part that day, including the subs to get us victory. Lennon subbed on Ntcham and Hayes when we were under the cosh and both then linked brilliantly to counter and seal the victory.

People will never talk about times like those that he got it right though.

First time UEFA ever awarded 13 points for a victory. That's certainly something to cherish

A comfortable win against Motherwell doesn't mean a thing. I can see it now, a comfortable defeat with a simple change in formation and all is forgiven.

Aside from the fact that we've massively regressed as a club since Lennon took charge. There's no way Rangers should be sniffing at even a small chance of the title. The fact they are, and the fact we've given them the opportunity for everyone to talk about it, is a massive indictment on Lennon as a manager.

Hmmm I don't know with that one Celtic were having shaky performances just before Brendan jumped ship, I reckon if it was anyone else but Lenny it might have went into freefall, he steadied the ship for sure but I do not think he is the man long term any longer, if he delivers the ten he should walk away with his head held high and his hero status with the fans intact.
