Many fans rage for a few days and then accept trouncing a bang average SPL team and everything is rosy again. You're accepting mediocrity from this club. Lording it over Rangers means * all in the grand scheme of things. They are an average team. It means nothing outwith the rivalry. 10 YEARS of having training games in the SPL and we keep REGRESSING in Europe when it looks like we finally turn a corner. CAPITULATING against average opposition is unacceptable for a club whose starting 11 has a * of a lot of european experience. This 10IAR thing means nothing without progress outwith domestic competition.

Lennon has failed too many times, arrogance beyond belief and for that will likely lose his best players in the window. Lenny fans will come on here and start defending him cos he's 'celtic minded', it's almost as cringeworthy as Rangers fans backing Mccoist after he fleeced them of a million quid a season. He's not progressive, he's a safe play by the club. Accepts mediocrity, doesn't talk back to the board (Unlike Rodgers). He's showing old habits. Not changing things, sticking with his favourites. Dangerous games for such a vital season.

Lawwell is also to blame. Only interested in profit for his shareholders. Replacing good players with average players. Celtic is turning into a shareholders dream, not a club where football is priority.

But hey, 5-0 over motherwell on weekend and we can forget all about it and delude ourselves with more domestic trophies against inferior opposition.

He is yep. I don't even blame the players, there wasn't even any glaringly bad performances tonight, all are capable but under a better coach they will thrive.

Cool, cover your eyes, pretend it didn't happen. It's staring you in the face, Celtic, players, coaches should get judged in European competition where they are actually challenged. Not against domestic trash. Failed badly tonight. It's a reflection on the club as a whole, cutting corners, I could understand it happening once, but it's happened so many times over the last 9/10 years. I"m baffled at how people can't see this.

We have regressed gradually under Lawwell since he took over. We’ve went from UEFA Cup finalists to getting papped out in the SECOND round of Champions League qualifiers under his watch.

Any other chairman would’ve been hunted out by now.

Should've just bumped the"accepting mediocrity" thread from after Cluj last year instead of making a new one.

Merge the yearly threads, sticky them, close it after a few weeks and reopen same time next year.

Aye but it’s the same type of thread we’ve seen after a bad result.

Happens all the time like I said.

It does, history is repeating, again. If you're not bothered that we got knocked out in the 2nd round of qualifying by a team that has had only 2 full games this season and then watching our manager have a meltdown in the press conference then I don't know what else to say to you.

You can only speak of the past and predict the future. Lennon has been a terrific manager and nothing can change that. For me, he has 2 months to make us better and he will. He must face up to some dreadful signings first though.

I've outlined the core problems currently with this club. If you are just gonna accept it then that's fine, it seems that a lot of fans are continually happy to let those that run Celtic get a get out of jail free card every time this happens. No-one challenges it, everyone accepts it and that's the root of the problem.

Canny blame the board for going out this season can’t blame the board for going out last season they have spent money just because we sell one players isn’t the reason for going out same as Eddie tonight it playing probably being sold isn’t the reason either it’s to do with that manager and how he managed it
