Our defending is atrocious at time's..

I don't know the stats but how many goals do we concede from corners, set pieces and cross ball's?

We look really weak at times back there. It's a worry..

 

Think it was around 70% from set pieces, crazy considering our 2 cbs are 6ft4, ajer poor again today imo, still cant believe we didnt sign a cb.

 

Aye Jullien is a beast in the air usually but it's only him and he can look suspect defensively at time's..

It's a disgrace we never signed a centre half..

We had a youngster in today and none on the bench..

 

I have been saying for while that we conceed to many soft goals....whoever is defensive coach at Celtic FC needs a rite kick up the....

The goal today was almost identical to the one we lost to rangers, corner to near post and no fight to get there.

I think we could be in for a rough ride if the defense doesn't settle soon, to many injuries, which obviously is a shame, but combined with a new rb lb every game isn't building the unity that is needed.

We really needed a CB in the january window, I think Jullien is a great defender but when he has a bad game our defence completely goes to *. Ajer has regressed a lot since last season and don't get me started on Jozo, i really hope Elhamed is back soon as i think he'll slot in perfectly and help settle us.

 

Isn't John Kennedy doing the defensive coaching duties.

Honestly guys the defence is far too fragile.

 

All teams concede goals , and most of time it will look like the CB could have done more. Overall ours do have sloppy moments and the new formation doesnt help, but i think in general Ajer and Julien have done well for us and will continue to do so. If we want to go three at the back we need another top quality CB and another back up CB.

 

Jullien is a danger in both boxes.

Ajer just cant head a ball either.

 

Ajer has the talent; but I'm honestly not sure whether he'll ever fulfill it or not. He has all the tools; but he prefers the hollywood tackles to developing his reading of the game and positioning. He's entirely too fond of the first and IMHO has stagnated on the latter two.

I actually think Bitton reads the game better than he does now, though his timing in the tackle isn't as good.

 

I dont understand why we dont have players on posts, unless its a thumping header the defender can clear it.

 

After the zombie game you would think we put men on the posts as again we look wide open at set pieces .

 

Badly miss Elhamed. Terrible decision not to strengthen in the transfer window, especially with the form Ajer is in as well as the injuries.

 

Jullien is big in stature but he doesn’t possess much power and it’s evident when he goes into duels with big strikers. His passing is very sloppy at times too. Overall I’d say his first season so far has been a success.

Ajer is really struggling at the minute. What a mess he made of that clearance in the first half that could have easily resulted in a goal.

It’s criminal that we didn’t sign another Centre Half

 

And the Aberdeen goal, and the Livi goal etc.

Look at the goal and the Ajer brain fart, bread and butter balls to defend and they make a pigs ear of it.

 

We've only conceded 15 goals in 24 lge matches, that's well acceptable IMO.

Even in our Europa group we only conceded 6 goals in 6 games which is pretty decent also, especially when you take into consideration that 2 of them goals were conceded when we used the fringe team against Cluj.

Injuries would be the biggest concern regarding defense in my view.
