He certainly has a bit of grit to him and I like his aggression. He balances it out with energy and technique.

Over stepped the mark though day. We were probably going to get beaten with or without him on the pitch. We were so poor before the red card.

He needs to learn from it and get better at channeling that aggression.

  2. If I was a professional footballer I'd be nowhere near social media. The abuse and personal attacks for anything is unbearable.

Christie made a mistake today. He fully deserves the red card, but the guy has been a star in our team for ages.

I'll not be holding it against him.

Wouldn’t surprise me if he was advised to deactivate it.

    Yeah...
I hope the whole team have their arms around him, he needs it right now.

  5. So has anyone actually seen Celtic fans 'abuse' him or is it just bed wetters coming to conclusions again? More than likely he was advised to deactivate it for a couple of weeks as precaution, Robertson/ whoever runs his social media did the same on his horror night in Europe.

Edit: after a few minutes of searching Ryan Christie all it is 'kerrydale meltdown' (hun account) calling him a clown and then supporters trying to fight non existent fans, 0 abuse I can see.

  6. No question it was a red card a bad mistake and it was a big factor in us losing the game today. But I am certainly not going to go over the top about it he has arguably been our player of the season so far. He is a mentally tough player and I am sure he will handle today and come back with some big performances for us after this international break.

We all make mistakes * sake.

The boy has passion, you can see that the way he runs about for 90 mins like forrest Gump.
Clearly that tackle was frustration, the whole team have a part to play in that.

    Everyone was pish!

And * all these wee Twitter gangster trolls. No that when christie is curling them in.

Some overreaction to a daft tackle. The guys not a defender, when he runs about at 100mph making tackles, now and again it will end up over the top.

Folk wanting him dropped will realise how big a miss he is in the games he's suspended. Rogic hasn't been up to speed in * know how long and no other player presses the opposition like Christie.

    He'll be a big miss.

  9. Rogic is injured again isn’t he also fluid on the knee!

  10. There are some right wee mongrels on twitter and if they are genuinely Celtic fans half the stuff they give out would have got them a slap in the old jungle!

    He * it, he’s forgiven..

He’s been our best players this season.

    We move on.

    Massive overreaction.

Some utter wallopers in our support, who normally like to out themselves on twitter. Idiots.

  13. Are folks really giving him a hard time!?

Wasn't his finest moment, but I think he's earned the right to a few brain-farts!

    No, we lost.

  15. Total massive over-reactions all round. We will lose games. No team in the world can go on forever not getting beat. Even if Rogic is injured we'll play Ntcham in McGregor's position and push McGregor forward into Christie's position for one game. Either that or just play Ntcham there. It wont be the end of the world.

Funny to listen to the huns cause they are top of the league for the first time in * knows how long. That also is a massive over-reaction. The international break will give us time to get our * together and they too will slip up, and we'll beat them again in the next game at Celtic Park aswell. All will be will just shortly

  16. Exactly as I said they have had 4 out their last 5 games at home. Tight 2-1 score lines vs Hibs and livi both had a man sent off for next to nothing went onto win comfortably.

their December run is brutal for them.

hibs, Aberdeen, Motherwell and Celtic all away!

christie banned for Aberdeen away is * and Aberdeen will have a few of their players back for it.

As I said a few months back twitter is a cesspit!

  18. Is there any evidence of this abuse at all? Sounds a bit fake news-y to me based on not seeing anything at all on Twitter.

Regardless, personal abuse is pretty scandalous.

  19. It would have been on his twitter, and if that's deleted you won't see it.

Players shouldn't need to go through this pish online, but it is open to abuse.

I'm hoping that someone will come in (hopefully Tam) and cement the place as his own and put out a warning to others what will happen.

I think someone highlighted on another thread how it seems too many can keep their place even if their form dips.

  20. Gary Holt as reported.....was in no mood to hang Christie out to dry after the game.

“I haven’t seen it back but I think it’s just mistimed,” he added, in quotes reported by The Scotsman. “I don’t think it was malicious. Back in my day it’s a great challenge!”
