MMA if full of hyperbole and Khabib is no exception. He’s an elite fighter, and quite possibly the best ever at what he does, but he’s certainly not unbeatable. The thing he has in his advantage is that he doesn’t seem to believe his own hype, sticks to training in a manner that’s worked for him, and fights to implement his own style on his opponent, rather than suddenly thinking he’s an elite striker.

He’s definitely built up a decent profile since the McGregor fight too. Not absolutely huge, but doing well considering his fairy limited English and relatively low key personality.

The difference for me is I think we all agree Jones would beat DC at Heavyweight but are we as confident in Khabib having the same success at a higher weight?'! Jones is the GOAT.

They’re milking his religion and nationality quite well now.

DC, a fighter I love, is removed from the GOAT debate completely after the Miocic defeat. His path to that status was beating him twice and then redemption against Jones before retiring.

Surely Jones has to go and prove it to be the GOAT then if Khabib does?

Jones is the GOAT for me and it’s not really close just now but I don’t really get your logic.

Jones for me is more dominant he has less holes in his game than Khabib and i feel it's quit obvious he would beat most if not all the heavyweights with relative ease. If Khabib moved up I'm really not so confident he would be as dominant but who knows until it happens.

PaulM1888's posts on the fighting-arts threads after a big fight night are like passing a car crash... you know you shouldn't look, but morbid-curiosity just gets the better of you and you end up looking through the gaps in your fingers!

It’s the doubling down rather than admitting he might have said something daft I find most fascinating

I'd do ok in a fight as long as my opponent didn't figure out I don't like getting punched in the face then that would be me *.

Canny believe after all this time people haven’t realised that Khabib doesn’t like getting punched in the face.

Cracking interview. Hard not to feel for Dustin but seems to be one of the fighters with his head screwed on.

theres no doubting Khabibs credentials but saying he is up there in the GOAT talk is silly at this point. that was his second title defence, in my opinion he needs more to be considered with the likes of GSP, Silva and Jones. That said is he was to dominate tony then go up and do the same to Usman\covington. then he would defo be considered. Is there anyone else in lightweight you guys want to see khabib face after tony, if he beats him?

If Gaethje gets another few wins at lightweight that would be a great fight, he goes for a knockout every fight which is why Porier beat him but Gaethje is also a world class wrestler but he doesn’t like to fight that way.

He trains at AKA sometimes as well so has no doubt sparred with Khabib before which would be a huge help.
