If Thompson was sent off for then that that * Ian Murry should have been of for the tackle on Petrov it was 100x worse than Tommos.

Dougal was shocking in that game. Thommos challenge was wreckless but a yellow card offence, and what about Rodriguez's challenge on Petrov, the same thing! Booking Hartson so early completely put him out of the game. These misktakes turned the game

 

when the referee sends someone off the park it can have a majorr effect on the game regardless of whether the decision was corect or otherwise. What recourse does a team have against faulty refereeing decisions? I realize that it is all very subjective but surely something has to be done. It very often looks as though the only theme music that would be applicable for a ref and his two linesmen would be "Three Blind Mice".

 

His performance was shocking, but Thommo and Lennon made it easy for him. Bet he's had a good few drinks bought for him at his lodge tonight!!!
Any questionable decisions were always going to go Rangers way, and Thommo should have learnt by now that you can't go in like he did.
We always end up talking about the referees after these games, but regardless of Dougal's performance, Thommo is to blame for the defeat today, you'd expect that from a debutant player not an old pro who's well aware of the Old Firm atmosphere and all that goes with it.

 

i agree about thommo and lenny making it easy for him but dougal was an absolute disgrace yesterday. if thompson was sent off then how did ian murray manage to stay on the park? the challenge he was booked for was almost identical to the one that thompson was sent off for. after that he had a fair few fouls given against him and then still managed to stay on after bringing maloney down for the penalty. lennon lost the plot and theres not really much you can say to defend him but surely when a player loses the plot like he did the referee is suppossed to try and calm him down and not hide behind the linesman with his arms spread laughing, its a slightly provacative stance!! also how many fouls did barry ferguson commit in the middle of the park? at least 2 cynical efforts in the middle of the park to break up a quick attack, and another referee might have sent him off for the scuffle with camara (who was excelent) as he raised a hand to him twice, ok it would have been soft but then so was thompsons. how he managed to avoid being booked at the very least i'll never know. over the next few days we'll all be told that dougal couldn't have been biased as we were awarded a penalty (can i be so bold as to suggest thats why we were given it in the first place?) the penalty we were given was an absolute stonewaller that should have resulted in a red card but instead murray stayed on the park and the next time the ball went into the celtic box they were given a soft penalty.
all in all one of the worst refereeing performances i've seen

 

next time Dougal is the whistler at Parkhead 59,000 fans need to make his job the joke that it is. If everyone brings a whistle it could sure maske for an interesting game!
