And Tierney is a supporter. He's idolised here. You're looking at things from purely a business point of view. I maintain he gives up alot if he leaves here. We will look back on his time here with great memories but if he leaves now he will never get legend status. I think that for a fan, as he is that would be the greatest honour. McStay, Burns etc one man club's, Celtic greats that went before him. If he wants that he has to stay.

I know, it's easy to click on for a Saturday evenings viewing but even that annoys me, Lineker's annual salary is more than the whole annual budget allocated to BBC Scotland Sportscene.

We are getting * over by Sky Sports, BT Sports & The BBC with the lion's share of our subscriptions or TV licence fees being disproportionately allocated to the EPL.

I think the only way to instigate change is for fans as a collective to stop participating in the sham.

I hear ye brother, and i do agree with everything you've said, they have created a monster that is totally out of control, i find it all repulsive.

Even the fact that we have to play 4 qualifying rounds just to reach the CL group stages (despite being champions of Scotland), whilst other clubs can finish 4th and get straight in is a total disgrace, really angers me.

It doesn’t make it any less of a ridiculous comparison.

Who said Leicester never played for it?

    It does.

Celtic are priced at 1000/1 to win the Champions League; Leicester were priced at 5000/1 to win the Premier League. I drew a logical conclusion from your argument.

It's obscene. I think unless people make a stand now then the game across Europe is going to be destroyed.

I'd love to see a collective approach from fans in countries like ourselves, Holland, Belgium, France, Portugal where genuinely huge clubs like ourselves refused to give it the time of day any more. As the TV numbers fall so would sponsorship and TV deals and then the whole pack of cards would come down.

Probably idealistic on my part but if we can channel that strength of feeling on the injustice of the likes of ourselves and Ajax having to play in qualifiers while 4th place in the EPL goes straight in, then we could change how things are going.

This Europa League 2 route that Lawwell was involved in developing will only widen the gap even further. Scraps being flung off the top table for the peasants below.

Anyway I've derailed this thread enough with my Larsson compilations and Anti-EPL sermons so I'll get off my soap-box for today :50:

Could go round in circles all day but the fact you seem to be the only person competing Tierney and Celtic and Messi with Barcelona kind of sums it up.

It’s not a logical conclusion. I said we as a club don’t aim to try and compete to win the Champions League. Nothing to do with Leicester or how big an underdog they were.

People get too caught up in this 'he's a fan' stuff. First and foremost he's a professional football player who wants to play the at the highest level. He aint getting that here.

His game wont improve under Lennon & playing against poor sides in our league and thats the reality of it all

You just have to look at Ajax & how de light has left them to go to Juve. It's the exact same circumstances.

I hope that you are just being obtuse. :giggle1:

It is - but as you said, we are just going around in circles here.

So the players at the clubs playing in the Azerbaijan top division and in Europe shouldn’t leave the league because they are playing for 4 major honours?

    Not understanding the logic.

Why is their budget so small?

It’s not like they’ve spent loads of cash recently..

Well, Arsenal's excuse is that they're trying to stay in line with Financial fair play. Also, Kronenke refuses to put any of his own money into the club..

They like offering about half or even less than what clubs value their players at. Palace will rightly tell them go forth!!!

I know Pete knocked them back years ago but i wonder if they still call for advice regarding wheeling and dealing in the window!!:67:

Or is it maybe they were wanting to get away with spending 40 rather than it being their actual budget
