Because clubs like Leicester didn't want him, Lennon left for the same reasons Rodgers will be leaving, the timing is * yes, but the reason for move is the same, neither should be deemed less of a fan.

And when the club you claim to be fan of get a sizeable offer to punt you and then they tell you? Are you going to feel wanted? probably not.

If that’s true then that’s an awful way to join a club like Leceister. Who the * do they think they are?

They’ll be * managerless again in 12 months and relegated within 4 years.

You’d think they were * Man City. FFS imagine joining a club like that. Rodgers career could die there.

Celtic open talks with Neil Lennon to replace Brendan Rodgers on interim basis
Lennon is set for a sensational return to Parkhead.

Celtic have opened talks with Neil Lennon over replacing Brendan Rodgers until the end of the season.

The Northern Irishman looks set for a sensational return to Parkhead five years after leaving the Hoops.

Lennon is a free agent after leaving Hibs last month.

And talks are already underway with a view to Lennon returning to Celtic in an interim role similar to Ole Gunnar Solskjaer's position at Manchester United.

A source at Parkhead described Lennon as a "strong option" and discussions are expected to move quickly in the next 24 hours. He is expected to be handed the role and the chance to win the job on a permanent basis.

Rodgers is expected to be unveiled as the new manager of Leicester City later after being given permission by Celtic chiefs to talk to the Foxes.

It's understood John Kennedy will be in charge of Celtic against Hearts at Tynecastle on Wednesday night.

Next month marks nine years since Lennon was first appointed Celtic caretaker following the departure of Tony Mowbray.

After being appointed on a permanent basis, he led Celtic to three top flight titles between 2012 and 2014 as well as the Scottish Cup in 2011 and 2013.

Some of them maybe off this summer, it’s a * shambles that he has gone, he should have stayed.

We need to make sure we appoint someone who is gonna bring the 10 home but I have no faith in the board to do that.

A Celtic man in that situation: "Okay, thanks but no thanks"

A non-Celtic man: "Okay, see you soon babes xo"

For all Rodgers posturing about Dembele leaving us in the lurch, he has now done far worse. The commander-in-chief leaving at a critical point in the season after convincing several first-team players to commit their long-term future to the club.

How to undo 30 months of adulation and respect in one single morning.

I think we would be pleasantly surprised mate!! I get your point though but I think he's a different animal than the one who left.

Plus I hope I'm wrong but I don't see the board going big!! This is a different situation from when Ronny left who let's not forget was one masonic decision from a treble himself.

I think we will spend a lot more to secure 9 and ten in a row, if we don't we never will and they will have to be chased out of Glasgow.

It would be unforgivable to not ten in a row from the position we're in.

I don’t think there is anyone else out there at the moment apart from Lennon.

Makes sense but I don’t want him long term again.

I agree but I’ve just got this horrendous feeling that our board will * blow it like the have countless times in the past and handed them league titles.

    I hope you are right.

Europe has changed since Lennon, his last season in the CL with us should testify to that, utterly abysmal.

Thinking Lennon will be able to recapture that on his return is pure fantasy.

I'm reluctant to get into a panic mode but for what it's worth I would find it totally a betrayal of the players and the fans if he should leave now when we still have so much to play for. I accept that perhaps things are not right behind he scenes but could they possibly be that bad to cause this. Even if they are that bad would it kill him to stick it out for another few months and demonstrate some loyalty , I don't think so.
