    Aye i remember that but different circumstances, you could clearly see he was struggling and we were 3-0 up with 5 mins to play compared to the Ajax game with a massive game coming up on wednesday i thought it was baffling. He actually caused us problems because he was taking up a position on the pitch but couldn't run nor receive the ball.

    Olivier Ntcham is set to hand Celtic a massive Champions League boost by winning his fitness fight to face AEK Athens.

    The midfielder is battling to be ready for Wednesday’s Euro crunch against the Greeks after sustaining an ankle injury in the weekend win over Livingston in the Premiership.

    Ntcham was hurt in the final moments of the contest and limped through the closing seconds of the 3-1 victory.

    The Frenchman was immediately checked on Saturday evening by medical staff and the extent of the injury was assessed throughout yesterday.

    Record Sport understands that Celtic now believe he has a strong chance of making it for the first-leg showdown.

    Ntcham, who is not for sale from Celtic despite fresh interest from Italians Torino in taking him back to Serie A, has enjoyed a sparkling start to the campaign and boss Brendan Rodgers will want him in place for the tie.

    The Frenchman will continue to be monitored in the build-up to the clash, but, barring any reaction or setbacks in training, there is positivity within the camp that the France Under-21 star will be available.
