I would rather he went abroad to a more technical style of football, if we are looking to sign him to loan out. He has all the attributes he will gain playing in this league, he can improve other aspects.

Because he is out of contract next year, why spend money to loan him straight back and not get him in our team for a year later - when he would be free?

    Let's hope no..

That's why I said Ledley (I'm no saying he'll be as good as him at all by the way). Ledley was a pretty attacking midfielder at Cardiff and came here in a more disciplined role, adding great balance and cover....plus still having that instinct of breaking forward and scoring important goals/making thing's happen..

As for people saying loan him straight out. They're dreaming if they believe that'll happen..

It would secure him now, avoid any cash rich English clubs trying to snap him up free if he has a good season and probably more international caps

I don't think that's a bad shout!! Broony is a * enigma and seems to be getting better and better. Giving up Scotland will no doubt help but can we expect the same game time from him the next couple of years. I really fancied this move at first, then cooled and have went to wanting it on again. I see him as a replacement of sorts, down the line.......question is when and how is he best utilised till then!!

ps- that's even forgetting about the Kouassi factor too! * spoilt in midfield we are...nice problem

Absolutely zero chance he’ll be loaned back to Hibs. Armstrong will leave, McGinn will come in.

Don’t think he’s good enough for us but if we’re wanting him it be idiotic to send him back out on loan at his age.

If we want him, bring him in and train him ourselves. He’s not some youngster that needs to go out and learn what men’s football is like. He’ll be 25 by the end of the loan :giggle1:

I said this before, but I would happily exchange our three SPFL level midfielders (Christie, Allan and Hayes) for McGinn, if the issue is that we have too many midfielders. McGinn is the real deal and ready to improve our squad right now

A quick look at their forum and not 1, even 1 poster can reasonably see why a Celtic daft player would want to join the best side in the country on bigger money and playing European football

It's all...."why would he go there.. blah blah blah"..

If Armstrong goes and McGinn is the replacement, we're worse off

He's easily better than any midfielder they have including their new Free Arfield , And we are debating wether he would get into our side that's where they are at in terms of the 2 clubs , only one club in Scotland could 1.Afford Him , and 2. He's a Celtic fan so either that or he goes south.

We just signed Bain there won't be another keeper coming in this window, Anyway Gordon is a great shot stopper rarely makes mistakes unless the odd time he tries to play the ball out from the back he will be No.1 again this season.

BRs philosophy is all about passing and ball retention moving the ball quickly from the back.. Gordon can’t do this it’s a major flaw in his makeup... and if BR perseveres with him he will be another manager who can’t spot a GK.. not saying it’s easy to find quality but we must upgrade on him..

He is an excellent shot stopper tho..

There is a reason why we concede so few goals domestically as we have a settled squad who know how to keep possession and attack and rarely troubled at the back, Gordon is also a calming influence as is Bain when he has been asked upon slightly better with the ball at his feet than Gordon but a wee bit on the small side.
Europe is another matter though an upgrade on Lustig and CB should be priorities over the need for another new keeper to bed into the team too.

Nope, not good enough to be our bench.
    Armstrong replacement, seriously?

We should pay Armstrong top dollar to stay and save a packet by not having to pay an overinflated price for the hard working but mediocre McGinn.
If Armstrong leaves, then scour eastern europe and pick up a much, much better player for the same money as McGinn would cost.
