i don't, i do believe that bad things happen and if you look back far enough you'll find a "reason" or possiable reason for it happening. you could say the jew's deserved what they got during the war if you look back at before and after - which is just wrong.

probably all the ppl effected by the earthquake in China have done nothing to harm monks, the normal man woman or child on the street cant control what their govt does. I take it then, anyone who died in the bombings in london had it coming to them for Britain being in the middle east?

Or countless African countries deserve drout because they have evil leaders?

Bad things happen, and ultimately only a hand full of ppl that bad things happen to truely deserve it.

I'm starting to develop an interest in Buddhism, a religion/philosophy that places a lot of emphasis on Karma.
I've always had a what 'goes around comes around' outlook on life though, and that comes from my Catholic upbringing. Y'know the whole, "If I'm a * to someone and it comes back to bite me in the *, then I've only got myself to blame" thing.

I believe in a certain amount of Karma on a personal level but I'm not sure about world catastrophes and natural disasters......

Earthquakes have nothing to do with global warming but the increase in cyclones, hurricanes and typhoons most certainly do. I guess global warming is a kind of Karma when you think about it; if we continue to use and abuse the earth it will come back to haunt us in the most brutal fashion. Just a thought.....

I believe in Karma and I'm not a catholic. Always been a firm believer in what goes around comes around....if you do bad unto others it will be done unto you. I don't know that everyone who has good or bad is being deserving.... maybe it's a bit more complicated than that. Maybe we're meant to learn from other peoples fates.
