In fairness to the guy Leese, chairman of Manchester City Council, when asked if they could not cope with big matches said :

" WE HAVE HAD THOUSANDS OF CELTIC FANS IN MANCHESTER FOR SEVERAL MATCHES AND NEVER HAD ANY TROUBLE " :bbpd:

That CCTV footage is brutal! How there was only 40 arrests is beyond me. The footage shows about 200 of them chasing the police, then setting about one of them who falls. Very disturbing!

The first thing the polis done when Rangers qualified for the final was to warn fans without tickets not to come to Manchester. Did they listen? Nut. IT shows you the difference in nature between us and them, Drop the Old Firm tag. We went to Seville and behaved impeccably, you could almost guarentee that they would have rioted in any case. Their behaviour in Barcelona was disgraceful. And they couldnt take getting beat last night so they kicked off aswell, I mean a Russian guy got stabbed for * sake.....shocking. This is the same mob that rioted in 72' when they actually won the cup. These people are the scum of the earth. THey seem to think that its perfectly normal to * in the street, stagger around shouting "F the Pope" and belting out the blood and thunder nonsense. Then since they didnae win.....the thought chain went "That referee must have been a Caflic Im gonnae stab some * man". Grrrrr.....these folk are needing put down. There was some guy on the telly moaning saying, "Manchester didnae want us here man" Aye exactly, YOU ARE NOT WANTED, you are scum of the earth

The polis should take all the ones they arrested in Manchester, I think about 30 they said. Put a big screen in Carfin showing a pack of lions mauling the * to death. That would be good T.V

The CCTV footage is damning. You can't use the failure of the screen to justify that kind of mob action.

There must have been hundreds chasing the police down the road before the poor copper got set upon. Then it was total brutality. Unbelievable.

Theres a guy on the Scotsman comment page - Dabulamanzi - who is trying to justify/ play down what went on. Problem is theres so much evidence - he sounds like Comical Ali during the invasion of Baghdad.

    Bit sad really.

I feel sorry for all the kids down there. Its the stuff of nightmares. I remember from when I was a very wee laddie seeing Huns chasing Bhoys out of the heilandmans umbrella, and seeing two of them set about a bystander. Its still stuck in my mind after about 35 years. The fact that lasts nights carnage was started by their own will leave a huge psychological scar.

Ah weel, mebbe they will see the light and cross the City!

They should take action at the anti-football never mind the * riots!

at least there's no lack of evidence to prove that their scum and shouldn't be allowed outdoors.

a slap on the wrist and a paltry fine no doubt...again...
