Sorry pal, wasn't referring to you specifically! Just don't feel anyone should be lambasted for their football opinions. I actually agree with you on Broony, irreplaceable in my eyes!

Not a major overhaul no,just tweaked a tad.Too many players off form right now, usually we have a couple in the team when we're not at our best who can pull off a goal when needed.Change of shape/formation/tactics too as we're getting too predictable at times.

Need a LB, and probably a wideman too.

Id like Christie to get a chance, he could maybe be a 10, along with Oz.

Some players need dropping to give them a kick up the *, starting with 2 fullbacks.

If we sell Mouss, obviously a striker.

I've been stating for months now, we need 4 new players in. Not squad players but 4 to go straight in to the first 11. Hopefully, the German centre half will be one of those who will go straight in. Brendan has been very loyal to a certain few players who need to be dropped. We have NO competition in Scotland at present so we can get away with it. But we should be further clear of the pack than we currently are. In Europe we need to have a much stronger squad than the current one. Let the board now start supporting the manager with the cash to splash.

Sinclair doesn't look the same and with Rogic out we are missing a bit of magic at the moment. Some more creativity would be nice and unfortunately Boyata doesn't seem to be good enough. We need some fresh blood but I'm not so sure about a major overhaul.

Just out of interest, can anyone tell me how many competitive games Celtic played in 2017?

we also had a very short summer break so i think we need a break. Our pre season games were also decent level though subs tend to be unlimited. I hope we come back better and stronger in 2018 but as long as we are successful this lack of recovery time will be a problem

I suspect the winter break will be a useful time to recharge the engines for the players and get another fitness preseason in to get the sharpness back.

That's not what the thread title is suggesting though. "This team needs a major overhaul" is quite different from; "we need to make some improvements". Jesus Christ people, we've lost one game (albeit we should have never lost in that fashion) and drew again with Sevco, they've still not beaten us in this league.

A few good signings in the break and 10 games or so in we'll be in a better position to judge.

    Nah not at all.

Let's be clear, this is pretty much the same lot that has lost just one domestic game in the last 18 months after all. The big issue is that we've just looked so leggy and lethargic for about a month now, arguably more. The players have played a lot of games, but it's also probably a case of being mentally drained. We've played a lot more games at this stage of the season than our rivals and, unfortunately, it has started to show.

There are areas we need to improve upon, but I don't necessarily think we need major surgery. It's a knee-* reaction to a poor run of performances that, for me at least, stretches back to the Cup Final at the end of November.

The squad does need a bit of help, though, and we'll do that in January. Firstly with the much-needed rest, and secondly with the addition of a few new faces to freshen things up.

An overhaul? No. This team has got us to the knockout stages of the Europa League and currently sit atop of the league having lifted one trophy already this season.

We need freshening up. If Rodgers was given £10m, I'd be more than happy for him to plunge all of it in defence and a keeper.

I think what Rodgers has achieved since taking over has been incredible.

He has taken charge of a core group of players from Ronny Deila, a team which in my opinion was devoid of any quality, and made them qualify for the Champions League twice and break British football’s unbeaten record. He managed to achieve this by only brining in one or two first time signings.

I just think we’ve reached the stage where he’s squeezed everything he can out of these players, and it’s now only natural to look for replacements in order to take the club to the next level.

Guys like Gordon, Sviatchenko, Griffiths, Lustig, Armstrong, McGregor etc. have done a job. However, if we’re to make strides in Europe- i.e. avoid the heart attacks in Astana and Be’er Sheva or the real humblings in Paris, Munich and Barcelona (which to be fair can happen to any side) then when should be allowing Rodgers to work with better quality.
