I know wee Moloney is still very young and his link up play and use of the ball in the midfield and around the box is good but he's not a finisher, he's proved countless times that he couldn't under Oneil that's why he was never started, I think he's useful behind the strikers a bit like Zurawski, but tonight I'm sickened that those Slokian Shoemakers qualified to the next round instead of the green and white gods. The only thing that will ease this agonising feeling of disapointment is to see Rangers not qualifying and then for us to go to Ibrox and win. By the way I don't know why Strachan took Thompson off tonight that was * suicidal I bet we'd of scored the fifth if he'd of stayed on, that Aladiere looked like a scared wee boy when he came on he had on open goal to make it 5 from Hartson's pass and fell over his feet get him to * sorry.

He's no that young. 22 now, right? I think he'll be turning 23 sometime this season. His time's past, put in Beattie :50:

Maloney has been celtic bright light the last week along with beattie. Don't forget he's been a year out of the game and only got a chance of GS since his injury.

Personally i'd have him and beattie in my team before magic.

Personally I can't believe aliadiere has been sitting on the bench...admit the guy hasn't played a lot of footie but nor has maloney...class above the little guy..chances to goals ratio is high, pacey..

might be a bit biased Arsenal supporter living in Glasgow but I think what was missing last night was some real pace up front...

Explains it. I think shaun has earned his place ahead of aliadiere for the moment, reputations shouldn't get you a game a football performances should.

i think maloney should get a chance , look at artmedia first leg , he certainly made a difference when he came on.

maloneys still a youngish lad who is playing for the jersey he knows what it means to be a celt and this gives him drive. we need to bring on the young players they wil be the backbone of the squad in years to come, lets face celtic arent in a position to splash the cash anymore and future signings are not going to cost big bucks. we need to encourage youth and let them in the first team when they are good enough.
as for on loan players they are here for the cash they will be off at end of season . ok they want to play too and make an impression but they have to prove themselves on the training pitches that they are good enough for the upcoming games , obviously maloney is doing this.

he has been out for like a year so its very obvious that he doesnt have very much confidence at the moment. just give him some more play time and he will get his confidence again... i can smell a future top scorer tbh.

Finishing is not Maloney's strong point, but he fully deserves his chance in the first team. I think he is more usefull behind a front two,his movement and pace have been a real plus point so far for Celtic, and it was something that was badly missing last season. Beattie too deserves his chance, and it's good to see Strachan is willing to give them their chance. Eventually,IMO Zurawski will be a mainstay of the first team, but whilst he's still finding his feet, why not give Maloney and Beattie their chance. Good to see Strachan not playing Aliadeiere ahead of Maloney and Beattie, but again his time will come.

Today Malonely was lively and dangerous but strugled with his finishing. He needs to be more clinical, especially at 1-0 with our suspect defense.
One thing for certain, he doesn't know the offside rule, persisent offender today again.
