That is all dependent on whether WGS stays

If he is here next season then McManus will still be captain he won't go back on that. If a new man comes in i could quite easily see Bobo or O'Dea being given a go instead

Who would anyone rather be captain?

McManus has been one of our better players all season, I hope the big man's alright. But on the up side anything that gives O'dea a run in the team is good in my book, the lad deserves a run. Hopefully Strachan will see sense and have O'Dea and McManus in together next year.

agreed. The guy impresses me every time he's in - he should replace Caldwell asap.

Caldwell is better than McManus IMO.

So you prefer a centrehalf that can't head the ball, pass it and doesn't like the big occasion. Mick has been out best defender over the last three years, he won't get dropped whether or not WGS is here next year.

It's like comparing two shades of * but...

Caldwell can head a ball better than McManus.Look at the way he dominated Cousin in the last Hun game.Caldwell can pass the ball better than McManus can ever hope to.McManus has made mistakes on the big stage too namely Shakhtar away.

Never liked Mcmanus-strong defender but so are others. WGS has made a rod for his own back by making him captain and now cant drop him.... I can see why he made him captain as I dont recall too many other possibles at the time.I think he's rash in the tackle and isnt that strong in the air, his distrubtion is poor and lacks composure. He fires people up and thats an asset but he's limited.
Against that I dont go to games and only see on TV so the guys at the games maybe have a better insight to his abilities.
