Would they be looking to use him as a * for Dembele in the future ? Or maybe they're looking at the way Brendan Rodgers has developed Moussa Dembele and think he could bring the boy up a level.

    Or, it's bollocks.

Seen a rumour on Twitter that we are in for Shayne Long.

That was floating about last week! Think he is a good bit down pecking order at Southampton plus less than a year left on his deal! Haven't seen much of him tbh on last few seasons maybe English/Irish boys could give an insight to him now??

Think I'd prefer the younger PSG boy..

Long would be on silly money. In to his 30's now and I highly doubt he'd come up to play 3rd fiddle..

Get your point that we should have plenty to spend but VVD and Jozo didn't cost that and they've been excellent for us. We know what we need as does Brendan. Hopefully we've scouted the right guys.

We've apparently been for every Ireland international striker throughout the history of time and only ever came our with Keane, Cascarino and Stokes.

Don't really understand the Long rumours. So people think that due to him being down the pecking order and third choice striker at Southampton, he'd move here on a reduced wage to be, erm..., third choice striker?

I'd like long, he'd have to accept our offer which is imagine is less than he's getting, he'd also have to battle with LG and MD but great player who in think would fit into the squad perfect

It seems more popular go to Russia or Thailand for that sort of thing.

Think Long would be a good signing, he's not prolific, but has bags of energy and pace.

Long or Edouard, and a CB. That would be some transfer window considering who we've kept and where we were last season.

    That's assuming nobody leaves.

Daily Mail back page linking us with Denayer and that PSG striker both on loan. If we bring in 3 loans after qualifying for the CL we deserve the pelters we'll get. I'd be ecstatic for those two on permanent deals though.

3 loans would be * ridiculous and totally penny pinching.

Denayer has come across as a bit of a *...but he was great for us. If it was a permanent deal, he'd be a good signing.

Nothing wrong with loan deals. There is always a possibility for making it permanent and I'm hoping that's the case with Roberts.
