The guy's played without any injuries stemming from his foot though right? He has a thigh strain or something right now but he's on the way back. For as little as 800k, just sign the boy on a 2 year deal with an option to extend and see how he gets on. He's not going to be on much of a salary is he? Guy looks like a reckon demon on the ball. I can't think of any player so comfortable pinging long range passes with both feet. And having international caps from 17 is no small thing, especially for a team like SA - they've had some handy players in the past. Seems a real shame. Chance to bring in real, developable talent for a relatively small fee - just build a contract/rewards scheme that protects against the 'potential' injury.

Think its an insurance thing surely we can have an agreement if the injury doesn't aggravate then rubber stamp the move

Think we've got enough injured defenders on the books right now.Confident he'll be here in January and we'll get a replacement on loan for 6 months/year,would be the sensible thing to do.

Record reporting that Cape Town say it's not as bad as first thought.

Daily Record Celtic twitter page has deleted their tweet that claims that now, interesting.

Story about it far down on the deadline day page, but with no direct quotes.

Really liked the look off the boy. Sign him up and insert a clause to protect us against the specific injury issue.

Wouldn't be surprised if he ends up signed before the end of the day.

The fact noone else in Europe is taking a punt on him or is even remotely being linked is a bit concerning anyway.

Agreed in a way, but before we signed him the only other * linked with Van Dijk were Brighton.

Ajax had been looking at him too but De Boer decided against it.

It's just with this guy, he is supposedly a standout young player in the league but only other teams linked are South African.

    Just my opinion, bit weird.

Mamelodi Sundowns and Ajax Cape Town have agreed to terms of the transfer of Bafana Bafana international, Rivaldo Coetzee.

It was revealed on the Soccer Laduma website that Sundowns’ cheque book is still open with Siya sources indicating that the club could conclude up to two more deals before the transfer window closes shut at midnight today, August 31.

Soccer Laduma has now been informed by sources in the know that Sundowns and Ajax have agreed to terms for the transfer of Coetzee to the Chloorkop-based club, adding that the player and Masandawana are yet to agree on personal terms, but both parties are expecting negotiations to run smoothly.

Find all updates on the latest rumours and confirmed deals in our Transfer Centre!

Coetzee’s move to Scottish giants, Glasgow Celtic recently fell through, after it was established that the 20-year-old had an underlying problem with his foot.

Ajax confirmed that the player is set to undergo surgery to correct the problem, however, as things stand, it will not get in the way of the 20-year-old’s move to Sundowns.

An official announcement by either club is expected to be made in the coming hours.
