I have to say it is a bit amusing watching them grasp at straws though with this "Brendan's got one foot out the door!" nonsense though

 

Why even give them an excuse by feeding into the hate. Don't feed the *, take the higher ground.

 

The game was a first round qualifier against an angry diddy team that we were always going to beat. We knew they would cause bother and we knew we would go through.

Instead of ignoring them, or at least giving them the level of attention we would have for the san marino team they knocked out, we bring out contenious banners and give them a level of attention they dont deserve. We risk getting the club in trouble because we prioritised winding up a * support instead over the wellbeing of the team. Just because they are northern Irish bigots and we couldnt bring ourselves to ignore them and focus on the actual football.

 

They deserved attention after what they did in the first leg, they made us sit up and take notice. The attention we gave them may have been misguided but if you think the Celtic support was just going to turn the other cheek then you are off your nut.

 

What was their point? Didn't seem to be one as far as I could see. Just trying to bam up the linfield bigots without giving a * about the consequences.

 

I guess that is where we disagree.

Celtic are a big club going through ones of its most successful periods in its history aiming for the champions league and trying to build a global brand. Linfield seem to be supported mostly by angry bigoted tinks, play in a non league and are a non team. But just because they are northern irish and act like rangers, our fans have to get involved. It is like being dragged back into the dark ages by a team so irrelevant to anyone outside of northern ireland and, it seems, the west of Scotland.

I actually think the exact same about Rangers, but I at least understand why people still enjoy that rivarly. But why we had to get dragged into mud slinging because we played Linfield is just so daft to me. For a club our size and stature the fixture should have been a non event.

They're obviously just trying to sell papers and get hits on their website by suggesting that BR is considering leaving, which we all can understand. We all know that's * and I would like the club to make it clear they're at it - doubt they will though.

I will agree though, that the GB putting his picture in that banner may have hit a nerve with him (I highly doubt it to be honest), having lived through all the troubles.

I also will admit to not thinking about this until I heard someone else say it, so I'm assuming it never even crossed the GB's mind either. They'd have just wanted to get one up on they scumbags.

When you say we, are you implying that the Green Brigade are not part of that group and are not Celtic fans, or as good as Celtic fans as those that disagree with their behaviour?

 

Hun accusations are taken pretty seriously on this forum if I'm not mistaken- at least I've gotten a warning in my inbox for one.. Pretty insane that you're going after your fellow Celtic fans when the core issue of why this developed into such an ordeal was because of our players and fans being abused by bigots.

 

Evening Times running an online article about a so-called pressure group "Disband the Green Brigade". The group has 7 members signed up to it. Yes, 7 people on a on-line social media site is enough to garner a written piece on a Newspapers website. Laughable.

Media agenda is quite clear for me.
