    Ive seen him play several times in NT matches, against Japan, and he is quite good. Excellent physical gifts, hard tackler and very fast. I did get the sense that he is not all that savvy, in the sense of positioning and ability to anticipate the offensive tactics of a world-class opponent. But then again, last I saw of him was more than a year ago, and he is still fairly young (23). I think he will be another extremely good signing in the long run, though might need a few months of traning before he can play error-free defence at the European level.

    . . . . then again, the back line against Artmedia was hardly "world class". Who knows, maybe it wouldnt hurt to throw him into the fray right from the start.

    By the way, Im told by a Chinese friend he speaks better English than Nakamura. But then, that may not be saying much. . . .

    This is what I concern of Du Wei, although he is a fairly good defender

    and he also had WC experience(but only one match)

    Can he be any worse than Bobo or Varga?
    IMO we've signed Nakamura firstly for his football, secondly for his marketability, but Du Wei sounds like it might be the other way around.
    He's over on trial, so if he's no good WGS will send him packing!
    Lets be honest, Virgo and Du Wei could get into the team as center halves if their half decent players, Bobo and Stan have'nt had much competition recently, and this has made them rusty. John Kennedy is another who must fancy his chances once fit.

    Another lucrative eastern market in which to flog some merchandise.

    His wages would not be a problem you would think and we desparately need some new defenders, so that means he will probably be signed if he shows anything at all.
