If you're saying 3 relatively poor seasons, I'll take that as well. For me, that would have it standing at 3 exceptional, 3 poor and 4 average or run of the mill.

It's hard to remember every season looking back though, just because he wasn't outstanding one season doesn't mean he wasn't good or was *. They just don't stand out as exceptional, which makes me perhaps assume they were average. Will try and sum it up going off memory and online.

After sitting doing that, I would probably change my stance a little. While there has been some poor seasons, he probably has had more good than bad. Still wouldn't say more than 3 exceptional seasons, two very poor, one poor-average, one good, and the rest average and injury plagued.

I thought Brown was pretty much outstanding right throughout Lennon's tenure, Ronny's first season and this season.

My memory of him during the Strachan era is hazy but I do think Lennon improved him big time as a player. 2010/11 was when I really began to like him as a player, and I'd say he's probably my second favourite after Larsson now.

For me if he completes another season like the one we just had, even getting near his form he showed then yes.

He's on the verge for me at the moment. So I'm currently not voting!

I tend to reserve legend status for the extra special.

For example, for me, the only legendary figure of the modern era is Henrik.

That isn't to say there haven't been great players and great servants but I just think the term is thrown around too easily.

I think this year definitely puts him over the edge for me. Definite legend, gutted I have never seen him in the flesh.

I don't mean any disrespect, because I think you're a good poster, but that just baffles me. 10 mostly great years, so many trophies, standout CL performances, captain and driving force for many years now, unbeaten treble this year, but no, "I'm not convinced unless he proves he can do it over 11 years goddammit!"? :giggle1:

Sorry to quote a post you edited, but there's a few points I'd really like to make here.

12-13 can't have been that mediocre for him, because it's precisely the season where I finally saw what others were seeing and started to rate him.
13-14 I remember him being really good in a team that was in transition (a very long transition as it turned out).
14-15 This is one of those widespread myths about Deila's tenure. I have the advantage that I missed most of Ronny's second season due to personal reasons and so remember his first season as it actually was rather than coloured by the way he lost the plot in his second season. That team was absolutely not declining at a rate of knots, it was showing signs of getting there and we were one outrageous decision away from a probable treble, there was a pretty good feel-good factor about the team and a belief that we could see what Ronny was trying to do. I remember it well (I was well and truly on the Ronny bus as well at that point): posts about how inspiring Ronny's ideas about life were, how he should write a fitness/weightloss book and it'd be a bestseller, etc. I also remember Broony being at the heart of that team (as ever). Does anyone else remember his late night kebab photos making the news in Scotland? Pathetic excuse for a media.

How my memory of him is too, mate.

I like to usually to answer these when a player has retired or left us..

He is without doubt a Celtic legend and the fact he's got a probable next 2/3 at this level, despite this already being his testimonial season will see a large majority viewing him as one when he pack's up..

Brilliant servant, brilliant role model, brilliant leader and a top player..

I'm glad to see he's getting the recognition now after this season and it's clear to see on here as well..

Afternoon all, skiving work to post this haha. I vote yes, absolutely a legend. Imo any player who is here ten years + and throughout that period can be first team material, then has to go down as legendary.

I don't think they were mostly 10 great years. Some may argue with that but I think you need to show a very high level of consistency. Being loyal isn't enough to call one a legend.

I think Brown has had good years intertwined with some very average years. His only poor year for me was when he was effectively playing injured. He had a fantastic year just passed, I want to see a continuation of that form for him to become a legend in my eyes.
