Anyone married and they or their partner earns below the tax allowance use this to apply online and transfer the allowance.

Link explains it all and has the link to apply directly online. Takes about 10 minutes to fill in and the tax people tell you immediately if you qualify and rebate amount etc.

I like this idea. Although I don't think it should be extended to civil partnerships.

Why shouldn't civil partnerships receive it?

I believe as a society we should do all we can to promote marriage and the traditional family unit. This tax break is a way of doing that. Civil partnership is not marriage.

I think it should be applied to people living together. Whether married or in a civil partnership.

Yawn all you like, it's the truth. Bigot and sectarian. You're less and less like a Celtic fan every day.

Remember the online tax form tells you straight away what the refund amount will be and don't forget to apply for last years allowance also.

This only started in April 2015 so pretty new and not many people are even aware it exists.

Now that same * marriage is legal, I assume that you would have no issues with them enjoying this tax break?

Surprised this isn't more well known , still I guess it pays to seek advice and pay for it, saving money in the long run :84:

Surprised you like this idea Marky, given it'll potentially benefit the 'rich' more. Higher rate tax payer married to non tax payer getting all that lovely tax free allowance :giggle1:
