The guy is gone in the summer either way anyway. Lets just hope he can do something before he goes to beef up the fee we get.

Dont be surprised to see him do well in Italy now, the spl is a good learning experience for italian midfielders just look at gattuso.

I think he'll still be here. And we'll see a much more balanced player next season..He does have talent of that there's no doubt..and he does have the discipline that Gravesen lacked...
You can't be the most capped Italian u-21 ever and not be decent..He has more goals and assists this season than Brown does too..
Better players than Donati have given terrible performances in the Nou camp

I wouldn't mind him staying the guy is obviously a very talented footballer. The reason for the poor perfomances is the fact that i dont think his heart is in it and he wants a move home. I think he came here with big hopes but the language, lifestyle, and the type of game played in the spl has not suited him.

I dunno about the language. I read an interview recently and he said his English is progressing rapidly.

I don't buy all that mince about players not being able to adapt to the culture. It's still Europe, Glasgow is a cosmopolitan city with a strong Italian influence. If I was a player going to a big club and picking up more in one week than what most people make in a year, I sure as * would learn to adapt.

In general, I'm sick of reading about players who say they are "homesick". These muppets should live in the real world.

Donati has some important qualities but is hopelessly inconsistent. Since 2001 he has had 7 spells at 6 different clubs and in that time has not made more than 50 appearances for any of the clubs (except Atalanta where he has had 2 different spells).

So far for us he is matching his track record of someone who flatters to deceive

Correction to my previous post - he made almost 70 appearances for Messina - however the point still stands that he is inconsistent and unable to hold down a regular spot over a sustained period of time.

I am afraid we should be looking to try and recoup money on Donati. This is no knee * reaction he was bought as someone who could pick a pass and retain the ball for us, how often is he the worst at giving the ball away? I'm sorry but we have plenty of those types avalible for free without shelling out £3m. Even 1 of his best performances v Milan was because he ran about like a headless chicken rather than the cultured midfielder we thought we were getting. No more excuses he has not done it and unless he turns it round by a huge amount in the run in I would be selling. Playing this boy against Rangers would imo be a massive mistake.

Couldn't have put it better myself.:50: Though I think we could just settle for giving him a free transfer.

He's being singled out because it wasn't just a poor performance, it was completely *. It was a 'Fernandez at Aberdeen...sub the sub' type of inept performance.

Almost every pass he made was short or to a Barca player. He stuck out like a sore thumb on a night when our attention wasn't exactly held by exciting end to end football.

Massimo was worse than bad. Just drop him and let him prove he's worthy of a place in the team.

Im not saying he played good he was dreadful. But he does get singled out every time he plays below average when our entire team was crap.

Scott Brown had an excellent game against barcelona. :87: Was better than Donati to be fair but it was ten miles from good.

Other players contribute even when the football isn't flowing. Brown gives us energy and dig, but if Donati can't make a pass then what the * is he on the field for?

What dig? Losing the ball and then doing a tackle from behind that any referee in the world would give a card to? Kicking the ball too far ahead of him so he cant control it?

Brown never gives less than 100%, the same as Hartley. Donati was woeful, if he can't find a Celtic player with a pass or sells everyone short then he is an empty shirt.

Who else gave 100% all the time Kenny Miller?

    I agree about Hartley though.

Brown is improving all the time, Misser was a one goal per 20 chances flop. Brown needs Hartley alongside him in midfield not a cardboard cut-out.

I don't think they've played in central midfield as a pairing that often. When Hartley plays, Brown has been pushed out on the right.

The last time we seen them together we blew Aberdeen away.

There has been quite a few times at least 6 or 7. Is there any site that keeps track of starts?
