That's one I don't really get to be honest... Footballers get a dead leg and have to come off injured. I've been getting them off my uncle's since I was about 8 years old and after 5 minutes I was completely fine :84:

SB: "Everyone knows how good @FCBarcelona are. We just have to minimise their chances.

SB: "We have to believe in ourselves and hope we can create a few chances as well.

SB: "We have learned a lot and we've got to not show them as much respect in the middle of the park and try to play our own game.

SB: "We need to get the crowd behind us because this can be a tough place for any team to play.

SB: "We are focusing on going forward and trying make it hard for teams to come here.

SB: "We got a good result against Man City that no one expected and we need to try to do that again.

SB: "@FCBarcelona seem to keep getting better and better but it's all about how we can be patient, relax and try to keep the ball.

SB: "That's how they play and we see it every week that the gaffer is trying to get us up to that level.

SB: "We didn't play our best v @borussia. The fans understand we won't have a lot of the ball and we have faith in them sticking with us.

SB: "Their front three is excellent to watch. Their movement is fantastic but it's more about how brave we are.

SB: "If we can be brave on the ball and keep them out it can be an excellent night again.

SB: "Bravery on the ball. They will press us high but we have to try to play their game and be good off the ball as well.

SB: "It's about the spine of the team. They can pick passes and we have to be able to close them down and make them scared of us.

SB: "If we can get an early shot or corner the fans will get behind us.

SB: "The result v @FCBarcelona was hard to take but we have got points against @ManCity and @borussia

CELTIC will need a strong spine to their team if they are to conquer Barcelona in the UEFA Champions League tomorrow night (Wednesday) at Paradise, according to Scott Brown.

The Hoops’ qualification hopes hang in the balance and only a win against the La Liga team will keep alive their aim of making it to the last 16 of the competition. And Brown said the Celtic players will have to show bravery from back to front if they are to get the result they need.

“Everyone knows how good they are and their qualities,” he said. “We just have to try to minimise them to as few chances and touches of the ball as we can. We’ve got to believe in ourselves and we’ve got to try to attack them when we can and hopefully create a few chances.

“We’ve learned a lot. We were quite open and they are top-quality players but we’ve got to not show them as much respect in the middle of the park, make a few challenges and try to dominate the centre of the park and all the way through the spine.

“Hopefully we can get the ball down and try to play as well because once we’re at home and we get the crowd behind us, it’s always that 12th man atmosphere for anyone that comes here.

“It’s the spine of your team, all the way through the middle with your two centre-halfs, your midfielders and striker and we need to be on the ball all the time because playing against top-quality players, you can’t give them a minute on the ball because they can pick passes.

“We’ve got to close them down and we’ve got to make them a little bit scared of us as well, especially if the fans get behind us and we get an early shot or corner and we just push on from there.”

Wednesday night’s opponents have lifted the European Cup/UEFA Champions League five times – four times in the last 10 years – so it’s no wonder their trademark style of play has become part of the blueprint Brendan Rodgers is using to build his new-look Celtic side.

Early attempts to mirror Barca’s free-flowing attacking style have brought great success for the Bhoys so far in the league but Brown added that coming up against the real deal is something completely different.

“They seem to keep getting better and better and the way they play is fantastic for everyone to watch," he said, "but it’s all about how we control our patience when we get on the ball, relax and try to keep the ball for as long as we possibly can.

“That’s their game, that’s what we want to try to get up to and you watch them week in, week out and the way the gaffer wants us to play as well is pretty much based on the Barcelona way. We know we can play well, we just need to patient when we get the ball and be brave as well.”

Just need to keep Brown away from Neymar. Neymar will always go down anywhere near the box

Brown cost us a result against Barcelona that last time we played them at Parkhead with that stupid kick at Neymar.

I hope he is not acting the * tonight.

He won't because Brendan won't stand for any of that pish or he'd be out the door captain or not.

I don't think Brendan would show him the door, but I don't think he'd be an lenient as Lennon.

Were you not saying he'd be out the door in the summer as well, not be captain this season, was finished and wouldn't get a game? :56:

I'd dread to think about not having Broony in this team. Would be horrific needing to rely on a midfield of Armstrong and Bitton or Armstrong and McGregor.

For now I agree, Brown is well above McGregor, Armstrong and Henderson which are quite frankly dire options to have.

Come January and next Summer though I think we will start to see Brown fazed out the side gradually. Next season will be his last imo.

    And Bitton?

Brown phased out the side... you are an absolute moon unit.

Brown will not be a mainstay in the side for the next five years or so and it's time folk got used to that idea. He will be fazed out the side and rightly so as his time is now almost up he's been here for 10 years ffs he's had a good run at it and it's time to look for alternatives to take us forward as a club.

It would probably be a good idea to judge that based on his level of performance rather than how long he's already been here.

I see no reason why he can't play until he's 33/34.

Why the * is anyone gonna take your opinion seriously when according to you last season Brown was finished Brown was this Brown was that you haven't got a * clue and while there was plenty of others saying it you never * shut up about it, no one knows how long he's going to play for, his stamina and fitness are brilliant could Easley go for another 2 years yet.

Get your * bumchum * Bitton who offers * nothing out the club before Brown.

Yeah because I was the ONLY person to claim Brown was finished last season, Scottish players in Europe these days don't work in the main.

It's time we became a club with less Scottish players and more quality from leagues such as Belgium, France, Spain and Germany or even the South American leagues as well who are producing amazing attacking talents.
