Last season we tried this course of action, with Carlton Cole. Enough said.

A lot of the time a player is still a free agent after a window closes is due to one of 2 things. The player/agent thinks that it can improve and open options - but with over a month into a season is just putting themselves further behind the pack, or that clubs are generally of the opinion that they have better options already on their books.

Don't think we will go down this road tbh,Brendan has said he has his targets and wont just sign any player.

What's with all the longing for Flamini? He can't run, has poor positional sense and zero creativity. Almost as if no-ones actually watched him play the past two years. Bit of a plastic hardman too, would be a waste of a wage.

Wouldnt take any of them tbh, Flamini I liked in his first spell at Arsenal but it was about 8 year ago, since then he's been quite average and is probably worse than Brown and Bitton now, never had much pace and was always only average on the ball.

Meireles used to be good but even when he was good he was always unreliable and couldnt defend and had ropey form, a bit like Gravesen would avoid him.

    Rest arent up to much.

Flamini's best period in an Arsenal shirt was the start of his second spell in 13/14 which was only 2 years ago.

Sorry wasn't a winner. Kolo was fighting it out with senderos at Arsenal would you want him then, exactly players are mostly has beens that are unattached. Rodgers stated he wants fit, runners from box to box just think we should have signed a decent midfielder whether £1m or £7m as long as he was right for the club. There were obviously players that fitted that bracket I just feel the club hasn't done all it could have

I remember Raul Meireles last season against us, was okay nothing spectacular to be honest. On a free I'd take him. Flamini definitely not.

I'd take Flamini before Merieles other then a decent spell under Kenny Dalglish at Liverpool he's done nothing of note for years

Wouldn't take Flamini. Not sure about Meireles either but would take him over Flamini.
The only ones I think would be worth signing would be Caceres, Muntari and Sessegnon.
Mohamed Sissoko might be an option but I think he has had his fair share of injury problems. Di Natale would be class. Would love to see him at Celtic, would still score goals for fun.

Flamini was dreadful in his last spell there at Arsenal, whenever he played or came on they'd lose the midfield. Think he'd just be looking for an easy club to go for decent money, probably end up in MLS.

I know CB isn't priority but I would take Caceres and I didn't realise that Mexes was still without a club. Always liked him. Kind of guy you would love on your side against the huns.

Stab in the dark but what about Adebayor? We could do with a powerful forward.

He's off to Fulham or someone like that. He's a waste of space these days anyway.
