I think the reason for the disappointment is that only 1 player (Gamboa) was added after we have qualified for the CL. With that cash cow added to the influx of funds, PL should have done more. I don't think anyone will argue we are better and stronger, but the midfield needed to be addressed. I understand it's not an easy job getting players but that IS his job and if he cant do it then we need someone who can. Your boss doesn't listen to excuses and neither should his.

Overall I'm very happy the direction the club are going, but we needed that cherry and PL failed to deliver it or his plan B which appears to have been Morrison.

Was a really good window . We would never have thought we could attract dembele ,sinclair and toure at the start of the window and everyone would have been delighted. We obv couldnt attract a quality cm we have enough average midfielders. Bitton needs to step up.

I'm not sure Bitton has it, he appears only to have 1 decent game in 3. I don't think its his attitude but rather the calibre of his opposition.

5 new first team players in...all upgrades and 17 or 18 other players sold or loaned...its been one of our better windows.
yes a bit of a let down not spending more cash but we could have spent loads and still got battered in the groups....we need to be looking long term and not just those 6 games.
We will also spend in jan window im sure.

Agree with this, shelled out close to a tonne for the 3 UCL games the day before deadline day and then us not strengthening yesterday does leave a bitter taste in the mouth.

:50: When its put like that it has been a very good window for us. Would have liked a marquee signing but alas wasnt to be. The world is a big place though and surely with some good scouting we will pick up someone in January. If we hammer Sevco next week last night will be soon forgotten is the boards mentality I think though.

    Exactly :50:

We just can't go out and wax 30 million because we have it coming in and champions league or not it's still very difficult to lure players to play in Scotland for the money we can offer

Improve year on year, have we improved this year? Aye ten fold

That's neither here nor there, mate. If Rhianna knocks on my door looking for someone to take her mind off being dumped by PTT, I'll forget all about this transfer window too, but it isn't going to happen.

If we get a draw against Barça in the Nou Camp, I'll happily take a one month ban.

I do agree about being a bit less negative, though. :50:

As long as we improve with quality and the team is winning then we go forward. I have no doubt that we tried for more, but none of us know the fees being asked for players...

Last couple off seasons the CB positions were of concern, while the MF was over subscribed.
With the signing off two defensive players, the return from injuries from another two and the emergence off 2/3 home grown players in that part of the field has it looking strong (we just need them to click, as on paper it looks excellent).
A DM would have been preferred, however it's time for some of our players in that area to pull their finger out and prove, that this is an area with strength in depth.
I hope Dembele starts banging them in shortly to give an added dimemsion up front.
The more they play BR style of passing attacking football the more they'll click, those who can't will be sidelined.
We work with what we got and in BR we trust !

Dunno, I'm ecstatic with Rodgers' appointment and very happy with the transfers so far this summer. It's true, if you'd offered me this 3 months ago, I'd have thought you were deluded. All in all it's been an amazing summer.

I just can't remember feeling so little enthusiasm for a CL campaign. I think it's going to be a sore one.

But yeah, on the whole I'm feeling positive. Give Rodgers a year to make the team his own and I think next season is when we'll be "back" as a European team. As for this year, domestically it's going to be very special and we have to enjoy that while it lasts.

Don't see Brendan being at the club any longer than a year. Who in there right mind would put up with Lawells pish when he could have an open bank book down south. Sinclair deal took about 6 weeks, Toure deal took a while because of wage demands, Woukdnt cough up 2.5/3 mil for Andre Wisdom. 60 odd million banked and the boards answer is a 1 million signing from WBA. January could be a big window stop kidding yourself on, we've been telling ourself that every window for years.

Think most Forums will be the same on deadline day, the thing has manifested into some massive event with Jim White wanking into his yellow tie.

The reality of this window is we've, without doubt, came out the other end stronger. That hasn't been the case for several windows. We all know we lack a midfielder but there would be no point in buying 1 for the sake of it. Rodgers must trust in his ability to get more out of Bitton and Rogic and clearly trusts Brown. He also likes the look of McGregor despite hitting a rough patch of form.

Let's see how we get on, there's no point talking our chances down before a ball is kicked.

I would say that we have come out of the window weaker in the central midfield area which has been a problem area for us. Going into the Champs League that isn't good. Overall I would say the gains in the playing squad have marginally improved in this window but thankfully the gains within the coaching staff have greatly improved.

There's too much attention paid to the last day of the transfer windows. Looking at it overall, we've got to be happy with what we've done. I can't wait until next Saturday and see us put down a marker. CL is brilliant to be part of but we're not going to be contenders in the current climate. Domination here at home and playing half a dozen glamour ties is as good as it gets. Coybig
