More or less, basically following what they do in England regarding the drinking laws instead of doing their own thing and getting more fans to league of Ireland games. Also if you bring any kids with you and buy any bottles of fizzy drink before going in remove the tops before going in because they'll take the tops off you in case you assault any of the players with them being typical crazed hooligans :rolleyes:

If you're in Limerick early enough tomorrow should head on up to the Markets field to the Limerick game, kicks off at 2pm and anyone with tickets for the Celtic game get in for a discount price. Gives you plenty of time after the match to get some grub and a few pints before the Celtic game :50::50:

Good point, quite amateurish from Partick tbh. Imagine a Real Madrid game got postponed or cancelled last minute, you think Ronaldo would just go home and watch netflix. He'd go and practice free kicks for 3 hours then spend 2 in the gym.

We'll gain much more playing Inter in a pointless friendly than we probably will in 80% of SPFL games this, or any other season, that's just the reality.

Why not take advantage of a payday and more importantly a good footballing test? Plus it's only in Ireland, we've not travelled around the world.

Limerick in the Premier again . Would love to see Limerick do a Dundalk next year . Gombeens at work actually thought that Dundalk would beat Celtic if we got em:52:. Reality goes missing with the Irish manure and Liverpool fan boys .Barstool imbeciles. Anyway best of luck to Limerick, Big Sam's inauguration into management.

Also, I think this is good by play Celtic, giving us a weekend off before the CL Qualifier. The Israel side will play, our starting 11 won't, so we go into next weeks game with a fresh 11, and maybe Erik and Paddy can play?
No idea how much we get from these 3 games but I am guessing it must add up to about the same as winning the SPFL. So these 3 games maybe paid the fee for Dunbelle or this new keeper coming?

Am against it my self the league and champions league are far more important than this inter game, it's put the manager in a situation he would probly like to avoid, he's been out in a position were he needs to put out a decent team in between important games.

A hope we put out a reserve side against inter but a can't see it which means fatigue or injury kicks in before wed! Couldn't care less about these friendlies they don't bring in the money that the cl brings

Aye he has a point, but the Scottish league pays * ALL so opportunities like this, especially still in summertime, would be moronic to turn down. Plus he's dodging essentially a guaranteed defeat, so why whinge?

Only way anyone bar Dundalk is doing a Dundalk next year is if they manage to convince Stephen Kenny to leave Dundalk and unfortunately I can't see him doing that for some time unless a better offer comes his way.

Too be fair though Celtic did lose away to the champions of Gibraltar and took a 90+min penalty to get passed the champions of Kazakhstan so wouldn't have been the walk in the park that a lot of Celtic fans though it would be and Bate Borisov are no push overs either having made the group stages of the CL four of the last five seasons. Thankfully though both teams avoided each and make it to the group stages and then maybe draw each other.

I must say. When the fixture was announced I thought nothing of it.

But now we're into the season and the Brendan era is taking shape, and so early too, I am gutted we're not playing in the league today.

We seem to do this every season, and we have the one game in hand for a month or 2.

The biggest positive of this for me is by playing in Ireland, we are taking the team to the thousands of supporters over there. Many of these lads pay thousands a year to come over and support the team in Glasgow. For those guys and for the ones who maybe can't afford these trips, it gives them the opportunity to see the team on their doorstep.

This is why, even though the timing isn't perfect, I would never discourage friendlies like this as it gives our fans this opportunity and also opens the club up to new fans along the way. At a time when the EPL and their marketing is taking over, we have to do all we can not only in Ireland but America, Australia etc. to remain relevant to our potential supporters in these countries.

In addition to all of that the money is too good to turn down and it gives us a chance to test ourselves against a top side.

Its a lucrative friendly against a top club in our second home, Ireland and we get to rest players before the Champions League-its a winning situation for the club.

Plus, its in my home town so Im happy as fk!

Remember these rules to allow premier league teams to postpone a game at the start of the season were there primarily to allow Celtic and, a team that plays at Ibrox more especially, the opportunity to earn more money. It backfired on Dead Cheats FC, mainly because they died, and Sevco because they are the remorseless ghost of Dead Cheats FC and nobody in the global football powers cares for them

I can sympathise with any club who have to sit back and watch another go coin it in for the weekend. If Partick Thistle are angry, just imagine how * off the owners of the holding company of the holding company of the international football club of the clumpany Sevco feel!
