  2. wanyama has a point.

should be interesting.* uefa what ever happens.

  3. We'll confuse them anyway as a lot of fans will bring Ireland flags, when Celtic are a Scottish/British club... :52: :icon_mrgreen:

No but seriously, bringing Palestinian flags wouldn't be wise at all, it would just give UEFA a reason to fine/sanction us, as well as make the cops over there even more heavy handed. I couldn't see many positives arising from it anyway. Like big Jimmy and Jock aren't gonna go over there with Palestinian flags and the Israeli's are going to rethink their policies! :56:

  4. Why would uefa fine us for bringing Palestinian flags? They are at Parkhead on a regular basis.

  5. I don't care if people argue for or against flying the Palestinian flag based on political reasoning or effectiveness of protest or whatever. However, anyone arguing we shouldn't do it because UEFA will fine us needs to take a hard look at themselves. People should have an unequivocalright to protest in a modern democratic country without fear of repercussions from some bunch of rich and corrupted bureaucrats.

  6. Very well put! :50:

  7. Ain't fishing at all lads, genuinely concerned about any repercussions we may face for any sort of political stunt so just saying my bit. The fact is, we've been fined by UEFA a few times now (even for getting too many bookings in the one match laughably) and for flares over the last few years that we've racked up quite a bit and the punishment on each occasion has been a fine. Who knows if the next time we get into trouble with UEFA that it will only be a fine? Could be a far worse consequence like I've said. I wouldn't dare fish with anything as serious as this.

But anyway, back to the game. As long as we take a 2 goal lead to Israel I'm delighted, of course if we could increase that the tie would be as good as done, but a 2 goal lead should give us a decent enough cushion to grind out a result over there and get us into the CL for the first time in 3 years.

  8. People will take Palestinian flags and in my opinion they should. As long as they aren't inscribed with anti-Semitic or anti-Israeli messages then there's nothing wrong with it.

  9. Are you taking the chicken dipper? * them, I hope our fans litter our stadium with Palestine flags and droop one of * over there fans. Like Minty says, as long as theres no anti semitic remarks on them it shouldn't matter we have Palestine flags at every game anyway.

  10. If people are insisting on making statements, they should do it outside the ground as that would make UEFA unable to sanction us, wouldn't it?

  11. Excellent post, eloquently put.

They shouldn't be able to sanction us anyway.

And what about the politics of standing with Paris was that different aye

  12. Aye but does that protest have the right to be inside Celtic Park during a football match, when the protest itself has nothing to do with the match or football?

For me, people should protest and they have the right, but the appropriate place is outside the stadium before the match.

  13. Superb post mate :50:

  14. * UEFA and their hypocrisy

  15. Nothing to do with UEFA though. Celtic Park is a football stadium, not George Square. Unrelated protests should be left at the door.

  16. Never been interested in all this political flag * ever.....I only want to see a full parkhead with great fans singing celtic songs and flying their own flags and colours.

Yeah Uefa are utter * but im only interested in beating a team on the park, not getting amongst their political bullshit.....

  17. Let's be honest, no one particularly liked UEFA, but we would still have to pay any fine/accept any punishment they would impose, regardless of how corrupt they are.

I really don't think we would achieve anything from it at all.

  18. Same as the poppy then
