Scoring wasn't really the problem as we had no serious chances created, midfield was really passive tonight, but one good point achieved - really good Boruc's performance (MOTM?).

in a perverse way, i'm glad to see how the squad performed tonite [i.e., poorly].

at the very least, WGS now knows the disaster that awaits if we rely on the BB/SV central defense partnership, and that tonite's starting midfield is a less than worthless lineup, lacking pace, creativity, no use of width, poor interchange of passing.

the gaffer must now know there is a lot of work ahead of him

I want to see Mcgeady right wing & Wallace left wing next season. Both have huge potential.

Didn't get to watch the match, what formation did GS play? I'm disappointed we didn't score tonight . Was big Rab in nets? At least the last two games were only friendlies:39: . Hopefully Magic and co. will hit the back of the net soon because at this rate i can't see us scoring against Lisbon.
(At least the next two matches are at Paradise:50: )

  19. I wouldn't let this friendly get us down too much. I'd rather we tested out our team in different ways in a friendly against a crap team insteada having to panic and do this in the league. I am looking forward to the season and feel there were strong points to pick from today's game. I know it was a crap game, but it's a pre season friendly. What will this mean in the future?
Also, I'm crapping myself, coz I have to eat a raw onion!

I am being truthful here, Celtic were desperate!! Bobo and Varga are absolute pish and McGarvery is 100% correct about the two of them, they don't have a relationship with each other and don't cover for one another. I think we need atleast 3 defenders in before the start of the season, as these two won't last for long.

McGeady was crap, showed too much of the ball and tried to many tricks, he never tries the simple shot.
Petrov is wasted out on the right, at the start of the game I would have put McGeady on the right and Wallace on the left and played Petrov in the middle where he performs best. We need a right mid and a creative midfielder.

The strikers may as well not have played the game, we couldn't get any decent balls up to them.

I am not too confident coming up to the CL game and the start of the season, GS really has his work cut out for him.

The only postive that came out of the game was Boruc
