I don't really watch friendlies and even I can understand the revenue benefits.

A game at home and in Dublin. A bit different to traipsing half away around the world, like we did before.

Some folk would moan for the sake of moaning.

This will be absolutely fantastic - will hopefully be able to get tickets to see the Leicester game at Celtic Park.

this pre-season fixtures has win win all over it. delighted to get the money in, some big name competition. and a good work out ahead of a potentially challenging CL qualifiers.

I hope the fans dont give a * about the result and put on a good atmosphere regaurdless. Just cause we're gonna get humped.

Also are these technically friendlies and can use as many subs as we want? Or more official with only 3?

Also i can see these fixtures being used to advertise the new season ticket "secure your barca tickets with the new season ticket at only 800 quid" "messi wants to see you secure your seat at the aviva, for only £75 with your 16/17 season ticket"

Great to be invited to this, yes there maybe issues raised with upcoming CL qualification (sure we'll win the league).

Here's hoping it'll help and not hinder.

I haven't read through all pages, but wonder how much this will bring into the coffers.

Somewhere in the region of £1 million has been reported just for taking part. Then add in the home gate for the Leicester match which might or might not be on the ST.

Just been real mucker as a have pointed out numerous times to you for weeks were in a right state at the minute and are struggling against Kilmarnock and Hamilton with that tube in charge of us a can see the likes of barca raping us 7-0 8-0.....

We're honking at the back and if he uses that honking 4-2-3-1 formation against the teams were facing we will get tore to complete shreds, what good will that do for confidence in the important qualifiers??

Av took my meds buddy we have declined that bad that a think if this current team played in the English championship they would be fighting relegation!!

It's a Pre Season Tournament, the only people that really care what the score is are primary school wains. That's not what it's all about.

No doubt some will think you are getting your excuses in early. Not me tho, the results in these games mean * all and I don't see the point in using them as a benchmark for the qualifiers. Few players try their best, they are played at walking pace at best, sub interruptions, no one wanting injured etc.
The bottom line is, it's money in the bank. Barca and inter will have their youths out and so should we. Leicester game might have a bit riding on it and may be a true test but then other two are glamour
friendly. Won't stop people picking holes in the performance tho

Pre-season friendly results mean the absolute square root of * all. Remember 14/15 pre-season when Man United were beating all around them and playing great football (according to their fans anyway)? They were * all season then and finished 4th.

Aye, I mind in the 12/13 season where we got to the last 16 we did * in friendlies, got pumped 4-0 off Ajax and beat by some lower league German side and tons of folk were treating it like it meant anything.

We then breezed through the qualifiers and the rest is history.

Yeah we done quite well during last years pre-season and look what happened. Pre-seasons are all about getting fitness and game time, players don't take them seriously enough to * morale if we get pumped. People just moan at anything nowadays it's getting boring, than * Og1 is banned otherwise he'd be chipping with some bullshit.

Can't believe the amount of negativity around this. We get to play the best team in the world, with just a short trip to Dublin (lots of Irish fans to get to see us), we play potential champions of England who have demonstrated that football isn't all about money, and a team we have good history with in Inter (again in Europe so not much travelling).

Can't see much to be negative about - we had no tournament this year and didn't qualify so what is there to lose?
