I really liked Scott McDonald as well but he only had 1 great season with us. In Strachan's last season he was decent but nothing special then the season after Mowbray got rid of him.

People saying they would pick keane if he stayed longer probably answers the question, he did very well in the time he had

One thing Is that a few people mentioned jvoh but does anyone else remember him missing alot of chances too? I mean he was good striker but I also remember being a bit underwhelmed considering he was coming from a very good psv side and was in the dutch squad

For us? McDonald. He was amazing, proved it on SPL and European level.

From 2006 onward? I think most people who voted Hartson are taking into account his seasons from 2001-5. I'd also say the same for Keane, except most people are voting for him for what he did outside of Celtic. Given this, I wonder if people would consider Ljungberg as one of our best midfielders from the last 5 years.

It was always going to be a toss up between McDonald and Hooper for me. Skippy did a lot off the ball and for a small guy held up the ball amazingly well, I think he played in an inferior Celtic side overall but also a more competitive SPL so I gave it to him.

    Also, this goal.

    * :54: didn't read the question. Keane is obviously the best cos of the level of teams he went to etc . Voted him cos of that. Didn't realise it was just at Celtic. Loved Hooper but Hartson at his best achieved more, very tight though

Hartson was a better player than Hooper. I would absolutely cry out for a player like Hartson now.

I voted Hooper because of the time but Hartson definitely did far, far more in his career and probably was a level above Hooper, who was still a fantastic player here and is a really good player in his own right..

The Anfield one was special but one of my favourite ever Hartson goals was Celta Vigo away. We were pretty much on the back foot that full game by the likes of Benni McCarthy but he absolutely bulldozed the defender and belted a lovely low strike to beat the keeper and give us that all important away goal in the run up to Seville. The whole lower side stand went ballistic and * were jumping down the massive hole at the front..

Didn't think I'd see myself answering Griff to this question a few seasons ago. :50:
I think he's going to go from strength to strength.:shamrock:

Some great names on the list. Loved VoH, Hooper was a predator, Stokes scored for fun at times, wee Griffiths could become somebody special.

    With all that being said...

    Hartson was the man

Your dead right mate, for a big Hartson, or a big Sutton to be playing alongside wee Griff. John Hartson was a tremendous player for us :50:
