“The Board considers that our self-sustaining model allows the Club to look to the future with reasonable optimism.”

I really dont understand this bit.

Optimistic about what? We're a * football club, and the football is pish. * the interim profits.

    * only care about balance sheets and bonuses.

Approach rich Celtic men like Sean Connery and Rod Stewart who definitely have an emotional attachment to the club, and ask them to launch a hostile takeover of the club ?

Man United v Liverpool a few weeks ago, a run of the mill League match, had 4 times the global audience than the Super Bowl. That is frightening and it's also why these guys want to be involved with the EPL. Whether it's United, Liverpool, Villa or Everton.

The best post I have ever read on here, ever :56::56::56:

i think i understand why we have such dissatisfaction and resentment of Ronny. Its because the fans aspirations have evolved since the death of Rangers Football Club in 2012.

Up until this date, most Celtic fans, were focussed on winning the league and beating Rangers or stopping 10 in a row.

When they died, our interest redirected quite rightly to our European adventures. Europe and success there is in our FAN DNA. That comes from being the first British club to Win the European Cup. Reaching the final in Seville, and our recent adventures against Barca on the 125 yr anniversary. Europe is the clubs future and the fans crave success and development in this area.
I am actually quite glad that Aberdeen are mounting a challenge and taking the title chase to the wire. I also think its good for the game in Scotland if other teams occasionally win in the cups. If we were winning treble after treble each year it really would be the end of the game here.
The resentment towards Ronny is largely due to our european failures. As we cup failures under Lennon and Strachan too.

Rod stewart is a massive fan, but also renown for being an astute businessman, and unlike to Bankrole the team.

Connery is a Rangers Fan and close personal friend of SDM.

Pile of *, have to speculate to accumulate as people say, if we qualify for Europe, with that squad we have would be getting pumped 3 or 4 times all over Europe. Board are willing to risk that as long as they get there 10 * million

    Disgusting from bankier.

Basically a two fingers to the rumblings in the support about investment.

No one! And I mean no one is suggesting spending 30million a season.

What we ask for is some reasonable foresight and speculation in our footballing future.

Take last summer, a transfer window where we knew virgil was leaving. We KNEW we were getting 12million for him.
We knew the btsport deal was going to add up to 10million on to the Cl prize fund.
We KNEW that squad failed the year before to qualify.

Why didn't we use that knowledge to invest 10-15million in the playing squad before the qualifiers? Spent wisely on 2 or 3 key players would have helped us massively. A defender to stop us going in to them with Ambrose, a known issue. Or a striker of sufficient quality to bag us some vital goals, instead of relying on Griffiths - before this current form?

Had those investments (real footballing investments) failed to get us to the promise land of 30million revenue from the champions league (double, or triple the spend) then the sale of virgil - which was known - would have covered it. And we could most likely chalk the failure up to bad luck, knowing we have the quality, rather than an abundance of project players cheap hopefuls).

Its not reckless or unreasonable to actually try and get in to the champions league, its reckless and unreasonable to play it cheap and * it up 3 years on the bounce!

Add on to the fact that a decent investment could help with qualification, we would also have a more entertaining squad, which could entice more folk to buy in to the club via season tickets etc. Merchandise, exposure in foreign markets with players that they may have playing for us etc.

    Its just stupid!!!

And that statement from bankier is telling us that they will not dare do anything of the sought, like investing in the squad to get champions league.

Nor when/if we sneak through this coming summer will they do it - as that fluke 1 in 4 effort will be confirmation to them that their plan works, and the cheque book will not open.

These men in charge are damaging our club! We need then out of the club, and now.

The is no reason why we can't invest better in the team, finding wanyama, Hooper, Forster even * Kelvin Wilson (granted he took time to settle) all roughly within a season and half can't be that hard to replicate.

Yes it might mean expenditure might increase year on year but that is par for the course when transfer fees continue to sky rocket, however the cost of that could easily be covered by cl qualification, fans then returning, st tickets sales increasing etc...

Next season imo is a great chance to spend a little more on genuine quality as we have a good solid nucleus of squad players that won't be sold on.

Me, you, the next guy all know that.

    But this board will see that as;
We havent made any money from tranafers, champions league income is not secured. We cant invest.

Expect nothing from this board. We seriously need them out.

Basically the whole "WE'LL END UP LIKE THA RANJURZ" excuse then.

I don't think the vast majority of us are crying out for 50k a week players. I'd just be happy with a few more around the level of Sviatchenko, to be honest.

    Lack of ambition is frightening.
