I still hope Ronny pulls through, but should he not manage to make it through the summer unscathed, would Darren Fletcher be worth tempting? He been mentioned?

32 now and a wealth of experience and a bright guy, and a Celtic fan.Player/manager might tempt him

Eh ??? That's how Gary Neville was appointed, look how that is turning out.
We need a manager that is tactically aware, not a untried footballer who has no experience of running a club of Celtic's stature.

I'm desperate for somebody who has been all over, experienced a lot. Somebody like Huub Stevens, recently sacked at hoffenheim or Christoph Daum.

Neville and his trials and tribulations have no bearing on how Fletcher would do at CP. Different language, style of football etc are the least of his problems.

Fletcher knows our game, lives not too far away, has a ridiculous amount of experience under the greatest manager ever, and as a player not blessed with talent, was clearly the apple of Fergies eye so probably got as close to him an any player, given he would have been personally instructed in every game.

Still a top player and a Celtic fan.

Loads of good players have been given a top job straight into management. You have to judge each case on its merits.

Anyway, i still hope Ronny sees it out.

Huub Stevens wasn't sacked, he had to retire from football because of heart rhythm deviations he suffers from.

Ok this will seem a bit off the wall but after reading who I suggest have a think of how all his teams play football before you shoot me down……………………..John Hughes?? We could not get the ball off them in the first half today and every time we play them they are very good in possession, today we were completely outplayed by a bunch of journeymen players from the lower leagues in England who have been coached properly on how to retain the ball. Agreed any of us could win the SPFL with our resources but on the evidence of the past few seasons Hughes would at least try and play "the Celtic way". No European experience!!!! Aye so what, think about how he plays his football. Ok when he talks to the media he seems a bit dim but in footballing terms he knows how to make a team play good football. I expect to get slaughtered for this but give me a name that is within our reach who plays football the way his teams do, not just pipe dreams. Oh and he is a Tim if that helps.

Yes we were Completely outplayed in the first half and by your response it is obvious you were not at the game to witness it.
In the first half we could not get the ball from them. What i am saying is that just because he is the manager of another SPFL side and sounds a bit dim does not mean he should be discounted from the candidate list, all his teams play really good football which is what we are not seeing from Celtic under RD

There's no manager managing in Scotland at the moment I'd want in charge...

    Apart from WGS...
