New Trialist?

Strachan wants 2 more Celtic signings

Celtic boss Gordon Strachan has confirmed he wants two more signings - and has revealed a mystery trialist is set to arrive.

Strachan said: "Martin indicated last year he felt his squad was thin. Well, since the end of the season we've lost nine first-team players.

"That's a lot. Even if a few of the guys didn't participate much, it's still nine players who have moved on.

"We've brought in three already and Artur makes four.

"It's not going to be possible to replace all nine because I don't have the budget for that.

"The best I can hope for is to sign up another two. I'd be more than happy with that."

He added: "But there may be another trialist on his way in. Don't ask me for a name because I honestly couldn't pronounce it. "All I know is he's about 6ft 4in tall and has a funny name."


Anybody heard anything about who the mystery trialist is then?

Supposed to be the Czech International midfielder Rudolf Skacel 25. He plays for Marseille but spent last year on loan to Panatinaikos.

Cheers derry, Sky are saying Rudolf Skacel as well, sounds like he could be a good signing, apparently Marseille are willing to loan him out again.

Want Dellas as Well though, and the Japanese Guy then roll on the CL

The other thing to say is he only wants " 2 more signings" does that mean the cash is gone?

 

Yeah, they couldn't afford Niemi, that's why they didn't up bid and are looking for loan players.

 

Lads if we get another 2 or 3 players in i will be happy! Sure we didn't even use half the puddings we are letting go, so we have to be better off somehow.

 

think he's keeping some money for midfield and defence, wouldn't count on there being much though.
should be money though, 25million from nike over the next few years, new kits out, merchandise, champions league money and season ticket sales. there's a lot of money there i'm sure.

oh, and don't forget dermott desmond the big big celtic fan

 

they could afford him, they were just reluctant to spend that on a 33 year old and i have no qualms with that.

 

i really hope it is dellas he would b amazing in the heart of are defence

 

I think with 2 more good signings the squad will be stronger, probably one midfielder and one more defender.

so we will see

 

Skacel is not 6ft4in tall. He is "only" 1.78m

 

The plot thickens, I read on one of the other sites though, that Dellas was in talks with Lazio

 

i hope its Dellas but i seriously doubt it , probably a guy weve never heard of and is the name " Dellas " funny? ,lol , could be that ibrahim Tall ,the big defender fe Senegal.

 

It would be amazing if we got Dellas.

 

dont think it will be dellas, even though i would like it to be coz GS said n the statement in the first post that he couldn't pronounce his name, so am sure he can pronounce Dellas

 

I thought Ibrahim Tall was supposed to be joining the rest of the squad on trial at Bisham Abbey. What happened to that?
