Politicians probably rub their hands in delight at this type of thing as it means they can do what they want and nobody will really complain.

The sad thing is aswell that this thing happens elsewhere everyday such as Beirut yesterday but its only when it happens around here people notice, I'm not point scoring or anything just pointing out that people are evil everywhere and just pray for the victims and their families tonight.

I have a feeling I'll wake up to a different political world tomorrow.

True, theres probably been more people killed by the same types in countries like Lebanon, Egypt, Iraq, Afghanista, Pakistan, Syria, Nigeria etc this week than there has in Europe this year but they get ignored by our press.

You can have different types of immigrants Sean not everything has to be viewed through an Irish Catholic prism. The Islamic religion does tend to produce a murderous ideology amongst a section of its followers. You can't deny that!

Sorry to hear you had a fall out with your family mate. I won't bother hassling you over your views on religion any further mate. I'm happy to just agree to disagree.

The events that happened tonight are heartbreaking and should only reinforce how important it is to reconcile your differences with any friends and family as you never know when it might be the last time you see them.

But did they before they started getting bombed?

Say the UK was a wee * country of poor people with barely any electricity and running water etc and Russia had been constantly bombing us and their army invading us for our oil for 20-30 year and we were all * ourselves from them.

You'd expect people from the UK would hate Russia/Russians and we would also be getting them back by attacking them, the same way they do to us.

So what religion they are might not have anything to do with it, it's just large areas of people have been turned against us and their country turned into a bombsite which is awash with bombs and guns for people to use against whoever they want.

Not really suprising whats going on, anywhere in the world would turn up the same way if their people were treated the same.

We're probably lucky we have only * up a small part of the planet and created enemys.

As was it not only about 150-250 years ago basically the whole of Africa was owned by European countries who probably treated them like *, killed and raped who they wanted and took what they wanted from them, if they had the weapons they do now back in those times it's likely the whole of Africa would be against us.

This is a typical politicians reaction to a terrible tragedy of this magnitude. Before any real facts are known, a warful revenge is being promised.

The real question Hollande should be asking and trying to get to the bottom of, is WHY people feel the need to carry out such attacks. If people in power took the time to understand their enemies, they might find a better way to come to a resolution, which doesn't further endanger their own population

It affects Muslims living in other places too. Imagine how worried they'll be about travelling anywhere.

That's one of the intended psychological consequences. Rise of right-wing sentiment will marginalize the moderates until they become isolated, resulting in an increased likelihood of fundamentalism and resorting to extremist ideology.

Why is it isis carry out these attacks? Do they say its because of the west involvement in the middle east?

And these suicide attackers have the mindset 'These western people are evil, I must kill as many as possible in the name of Allah and go to paradise'- where do they get that mentality from and how do you stop people from developing that viewpoint?

Its must be extreme islamic societies in the middle east- we need to somehow change that ideology which is probably impossible.

Groups such as IS or similar organisations are motivated by their desire to uphold an extremist view of Islamic ideology. They will butcher & destroy anything that stands in their way, peaceful or not. They do not carry out such attacks solely as retribution for perceived injustices but would seek to do such things regardless. It is their their interpretation of their holy scriptures.Thats a fact.

If the west is to be blamed anywhere it is in the removal of tyrants such as Saddam Hussein from Iraq etc that has left the void that IS now fill.

    Would definitely help.

    https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=hYVxIA8vg5Y

This footage shows US helicopter in Iraq gunning down civilians and shooting at a family and killing the dad of this family.

How easy do you think it would be for ISIS to corrupt and recruit these children?

Pretty much the vast majority of the world has been colonised by western nations.

It was for their benefit though

Unfortunately we know why they carry out these attacks, they have a warped ideology that views not only the west but anyone who doesn't follow Islam as an enemy that deserves death. The expression fighting fire with fire was made for this group of people. I truly believe from this point on any resolution that doesn't involve violence is impossible, they simply aren't into negotiating.
