He should have dealt with Ajax's second easily.

Run of the mill stuff for a keeper, especially of Gordon's standard.

Annoyingly it was one of the best things about him last season. He's been pathetic at it lately though.

We were far too deep for that freekick, someone should have made us push up. So I'm hesitant to blame Gordon more than anyone else.

I've seen loads of keepers in the past who lose confidence in the defenders in front of him. last year it was the same two nearly every game and Gordon was excellent now we need to get a settled team. We have known for a year to six months this would happen and it is left to the last minute to bring in replacements. That has caused this drop in confidence.

I would say it's the opposite, meaning that Gordon is shakey because the defence are. Gordon controlled his box last season well, which was one thing that stood out about him compared to Forster.

I always played goalkeeper as a kid, not saying I was great or anything, but if there's one misconception about goalkeeping I wish would get cleared up, it's this notion that goalkeeping is about reactions. It's not. The reaction times of a human being literally aren't fast enough to deal with most shots in professional football; it's all about anticipation and reading intention and body shape.

I can't blame Gordon for that goal, I think it was incredibly hard to anticipate what was happening; I do think a really top keeper would have read it, though.

So true mate, it was a breath of fresh air getting him in after Forster who didn't come off his line. I loved how composed & confident he looked coming for high balls last season
