    Soon as the date for the game is known flights from all Scottish destinations will rocket.

    Might be best to see now what other cities other than London fly to Istanbul. eg via Amsterdam, Munich, Dusseldorf, Paris etc.

    Direct flights from Edinburgh. Only downside is we have to wait so long for the game and it will be Winter, would have been even greater if it was first or second up.

    They made it harder for Egyptians to get visas to Turkey because of tensions between the two but I'll try my best.

    Im going .Flying out on the 7th back the 11th from Edinburgh direct on Turkish airlines . £201.not booked accommodation yet . not sure to stay in town centre , taksim square or near the ground . The grounds about 20km from the centre

    Fly to Germany for twenty quid then hitchhike the rest, I did it before across austria, hungary, romania and bulgaria took like 4 days. Stay a few nights near Taksim too Istanbul is a good party city but alcohol is more expensive then say Bulgaria because of the Muslim taxes, o and bring your ma back a nice kashmir scarf and all she will be well chuffed.

    Ya can easily drive it too lads by the way, fill up a car and nip across, decent oul road trip but insurance can be bought at the border for like 40 quid (did this too) you should be covered all of the rest of the way since u never leave the EU until turkey just dont take the serbia route. This way u can stock up on cheap * and vodka in Bulgaria.
