whaaat? :smiley-laughing002:we would be doing the other scottish teams a favour by leaving, teams like hearts, aberdeen, dundee united and hibs would have a chance of winning the league and would be far more competitive

I have tried to be as patient and polite as possible, especially given your 'input' into the Independence thread last year. However we are obviously not going to agree and I cant be arsed going around in circles anymore.
I honestly can not think how to word the fact that there is no mandate in place any clearer.
I think the only 'vacuum' here is the one you must occupy being honest.

    :smiley-laughing002: Fair enough.

But let's be honest, you've been all over the place in this thread. That fact you twice quoted a Wikipedia page highlighting what the opinion of the likes of the SFA is on the matter is one thing! But to then ask me why I brought the SFA into the discussion- when all I've said is that they're irrelevant- really does speak for itself!

Aye good one , you are the one who has been making claims of mandates when there is no such thing at all. :56:
The SFA's stance on the matter is plain for anyone to see and is not irrelevant. They represent the member clubs and will have reached their stance in conjunction with the Clubs. Which does include Celtic and will likely include us for the foreseeable future, no matter how much that may disappoint you its just something you are going to have to accept :50:

Next time we have a referendum, maybe you could ask if a question could be added about Celtic playing in a different league :smiley-laughing002: :bbpd:

Of course there is both a sporting and a political mandate which Celtic could (and should) pursue.

The SFA's stance is irrelevant. FIFA/UEFA sanctioned a "Team GB" to participate in their tournament. A precedent was set, whether you or the SFA like it or not. Celtic should be using that fact as a bargaining chip, and ramming it down the throats of football's governing bodies.

The result of the recent Scottish referendum is a fact. It might be difficult and disappointing to accept it, but it happened. Celtic may as well take advantage of it.

Would be nice for us to be in the limelight world wide every week, but if we went to England our support would inevitably be diluted with band wagoners, fair weather fans and glory hunters. What makes us so special is our support, so im not sure Id want us in England for that reason.

Celtic are becoming less and less relevant in European football, its just a fact of life. People are already viewing us a historical threat in European football, and a pushover today. Sure we have our blips like the Barca game but thats all they, are very special blips in time. No league is ever going to take us, not unless they form a British Superleague of some kind, which is not something most of our supporters support, from what I have heard, anyway.

All our trophies bar the big cup would be meaningless in England

Scottish football would be part time without Celtic.

Hmmm, some Celtic fans want to leave Scotland and probs won't attend games complaining about the lack of competition.

For me, Scotland is and has been wonderful since Sevco went out the game. My blood pressure has been completely fine :)

Why any of my Brother Celtic Fans would want us to be an English Team is beyond me??? * idiots.

That's the kind of myth worthy of the Sevco 'armageddonists'.

I think you overestimate how much Celtic bring to the table for other clubs aside from a bigger TV deal (which isn't exactly that high anyway) and a few big gates every season.

The other side of the coin is that fans of other teams are bored stiff being stuck in a competition dominated by one or two sides.

In any case, I'm not sure why Celtic see themselves as special in this regard. Other Scottish clubs have declined even further in relative terms if you look at where Scottish Football was 20-30 years ago. We just have to live with it. It has been the same for all smaller leagues and basically UEFA do f*ck all about it because they've been * whipped by the top clubs out of fear that they will breakaway and form their own competition.

Time for evolution, preferably in a super league with all the other also-rans teams but worse case, the EPL.
Scottish football is ridiculous and has been since its formation.
    Nostalgia is a curse.

I don't think any Celtic supporter in here wants Celtic to be an English team. If Celtic were lucky enough to escape Scottish football and play in the English leagues or a British league they would still be based in Glasgow, and would still have the same culture, history, tradition and politics that they always have had.

Celtic wouldn't be an English team if they played in the so called English leagues !

Wrexham, Cardiff and Swansea aren't English teams and they play in the so called English leagues, i am sure we could if we had to, we could go through courts of law to establish that as we are a British league team we should be entitled to be in the British football league, other wise what are Welsh teams doing in it ?

well i think theres a case there lol

thing is sky sports tv is killing ours and the other football clubs up in Scotlands customer base, i bet hundreds of thousands of wee boys have English football teams

if our league continues its spiral downwards then maybe we should make a concerted attempt at getting in even if we have to start in div 2 we would fly through the leagues in no time
