It's like having a whole new player, he was fantastic again today. I love the fact that Rodgers was just telling him to stay high up the pitch in the first half. It means any team we will play against will have to leave players back otherwise he'll burn them with his pace.

Agreed. Roberts will get back in to the team for sure but I think he may actually have to bide his time. Dropping Forrest when he's in this type of form would just be counter productive for a number of reasons.

Brilliant goal. That's what we want to keep seeing...... Driving at defender's, going inside and out, and end product..

He's been very good so far. Loves that outside of the right foot shot..

Referee had a shocker for booking him, can't believe the precedent this sets for celebrating passionately.

JF: "We started off really well, got the three goals and were maybe a wee bit complacent in the second-half.

JF: "Credit to them to get two goals back but we showed a bit of character to get the fourth and kill the game.

JF on conceding goals: "I think we can stop that from happening. It was just a couple of times they got through.

JF on his goal: "I was delighted with the goal. It made us three-nil up and rounded off a good first-half.

JF: "Confidence is going through the full team just now since the start of pre-season.

JF: "We’re kicking-on and hopefully we can take that confidence into Tuesday night.

Hope he keeps up this new found form. Dig and good performances from a player who I didn't think had it in him. Well done James hope he can keep proving a lot of us wrong.

Excellent start to the season. Showing fight I didn't think he had anymore. Was a great wee player when he first came into the side, hopefully he's recapturing that form

I posted a couple of days ago about the turn around in Forrest being a great thing for the club, I finished off that he will be a good "backup" able to cover left and right wing.....I stick by that and do believe that Roberts will come back into the first 11 when free....however any slip up, poor performances, then I think James is back in.....on the last couple of weeks Forrest adds to the mid fields, links up well, gets into the box, scores - importantly it is the supporting the defence, tracking back and actually sticking in a few hard tackles...on the 2nd half of the list he may have MORE to offer than Roberts

Is this 2012 again? We haven't seen form like this from him in years. The lad is finally playing up to his potential and I'm hoping it's not just bright patch before fading off around christmas.

Great to see what a bit of confidence can do to a player. Brendan knows how to breathe life into players that's for sure. I still think he'll be back up to Roberts and Sinclair but Roberts is leaving next season so it's great to see him playing like this and saves us worrying about how we're going to replace him.

THE confidence instilled in the Celtic team by Brendan Rodgers is getting the Bhoys results, according to James Forrest - although the winger wants the Hoops to cut out their mistakes in conceding late goals.
The Celts headed home from Perth with three points safely in the bag after a 4-2 win over St Johnstone today (Saturday) but there were moments of concern in the second-half as the champions saw a 3-0 lead pegged back to 3-2 for the second time in the space of a week, following on from the mid-week Champions play-off first-leg against Hapoel Be’er Sheva at Paradise.
Goals from Leigh Griffiths, Scott Sinclair and James Forrest had put the Bhoys firmly in charge at the interval but a St Johnstone penalty on 82 minutes, followed by a late strike from Steven MacLean, brought the game to a tense conclusion.
Substitute Ryan Christie calmed the nerves with an injury-time strike to secure a vital three points but Forrest said the Hoops must aim to eliminate their brief moments of complacency going forward.
“We started off really well, got the three goals and were maybe a wee bit complacent in the second-half but credit to them to get two goals back but we showed a bit of character to get the fourth and kill the game,” he said.
“I think we can stop that from happening. It was just a couple of times they got through and they scored two goals so we maybe need to work on that and hopefully not concede any goals.”
Forrest’s strike on the stroke of half-time, a wonderful right-footed finish from 12 yards, helped establish the Celts’ dominance in the opening 45 minutes and it marked his second goal in two league games, following on from his opener against Hearts two weekends ago.
The playmaker, who finished the game as Man of the Match, added that his confidence is representative of the positive vibes in the full team and praised the manager for his influence on the Scottish champions.
“I was delighted with the goal,” he said. “It made us three-nil up and rounded off a good first-half.
“Confidence is going through the full team just now since the start of pre-season. We’re kicking-on and hopefully we can take that confidence into Tuesday night.
“I just think since day one of pre-season it has been hard training and everybody has been benefiting from it – fitness and football wise as well. The more games we play we can kick-on from there and I think we did that today.
"This is a hard place to come to and get three points. We had a good performance on Wednesday and had a good result. Everyone wanted to play and come here because it is still important to get the three points and keep the momentum going for Tuesday night.”

    * dropping forrest for anyone right now if roberts wants back in he can play through the middle behind griff.

People forget during Lenny's first season when we wre absolutely dire it was this guy that dragged us through that rough patch, he showed his value to the team then and is backing that up again now.

He lost his wa y under ronny but who didnt other than griff and KT.

He is due every bit of praise he is getting and the nay-sayers should get behind him now as he is such a potent weapon,

TBH Roberts would be far more effective through the middle anyway, maybe he should be vying with rogic for that position because theres no way you can take jamesy out of the right wing just now.

If roberts was actually our player then I would be a bit more inclined to push him a bit further in fron t of forrest but right now he can wait ofr go in the middle.

Our front 5 of roberts, sinclair, griff, dembele and forrest are the most quaality we have has in that area since the days of larsson, hartson, thompson, sutton and agathe. TBH if you take larsson out of that then it may actually be better

Im happy to eat a big slice of Humble Pie, I didnt understand why he was getting a 3 year deal when only weeks aho he'd been saying he was offski .

Hes injury prone and thats a worry, but my *!! What Brendan has stirred up in him is nothing short of sorcery!!

He looks fit, fast and hungry. Long may it continue

getting better each game under BR, pleased for him. I wouldn't let my son get forrest on the back of his shirt last year as I thought he was a lazy wee bam but seems to have found a new love for the game. Keep it up young man :50:

Missed the game, but good to see him continuing with his current run of form. Good goal too.
